I was just wondering what everone's thoughts about the impending war? Is everyone still planning their trips to Disney? We are planning to go around May 16th. And if we are there and we are attacked, what a place to die other than the happiest place on earth. :)

We are going the 7th of May. We went only the 14th of Sept 2001 also. I don't expect to have any problems other than having a great time due to the fact that every one seem preoccuipied with the problem of terrorist. We are going to be attack even if we don't take out Saddam. There are to many idiots that want to rule the world and how we live because they think it wrong. I'm sorry but that doesn't work. If we are attack for trying to protect ourselves then it because of religious idots. To many people think they are doing it for GOD or who every. It not that, they want power over you and that all it is plain and simple. The only way to prevent that is to act like every thing was peaceful and enjoy life. The worst thing that the peacenicks are doing is creating more problems not solving anything. You can protest but think about what you are protesting, your way of life.

I just figure you can't let them change your way of live. If you do, they've won. Nope, none of our plans have changed. Still have 2 trips planned this year & planning on enjoying every bit of it. In addition, I'm currently helping 3 other folks at work plan their trips to WDW & another one to DL. Not to mention a trip to St. Louis this summer as well as all the family traveling here for graduations. None of that is changing. You just gotta live life. It's a gift I don't want to waste. Personally, I think if we would just do it & get it over with (it won't take very long!) the economy would pick up once it was over. My opinion, for whatever it's worth.

Not intending to change our plans, either. We are going to New York City on May 16th to celebrate our anniversary and while I'll admit it will be on my mind, it won't prevent me from doing what I want to.

You should feel secure in traveling to Disney. We also went right after September 11th and had a great time. One positive - less crowds. :)

Yup, still planning on flying on Sept.12,2003 for our next trip to WDW. My fiance left for WDW this morning for a week chaperoning a senior class trip-if we go to war while he is there, and flights get screwed up for some reason he says he can't think of a better place to be stranded for a while!

Our plans haven't changed either. We still are going up to Pensacola next month, key west in may, and fort myers in august...unfortunately no trip to disney until sept. for the night of joy:cry: . I'm with everbody else when I say if we change our plans, they've won. I just wish we would get this thing with Iraq over with ASAP, obvisously we wont get any help from the U.N., so we are just wasting time. We should just take the allies we have now and get done with it. Back on topic.... I would always feel safe at disney world, I cant imagine any other feeling!

We didn't change our plans in Nov 2001 when we went down to WDW then I won't change them now. We will be goin in August! Hopefully this will be behind us by then. I do however have to agree Disneycouple even if we take him out there will still be zealots here that have to be trtacked down and stopped berfore they hit us again! God Bless America and all our troops in harms way. And God Bless our troops and emergency service personal on the home front! I don't know how anyone else around here feels but let's rock and roll and get this over with!:devil

I agree with everyone on this. If you have plans to go to Disney go. ENJOY :) Don't let anyone run your life. The people that caused 9-11 are cowards. If you stop living then they have won. Enjoy your life and the things that you want to do. We are still going in July and I cant wait. :)

I just wanted to say, after reading all of these posts, it makes my heart feel good to see everyone trying to maintain such a positive attitude and showing support for our country and our troops. Whether we agree or disagree on going to war in iraq, we should ALWAYS show support for the troops and.... (I think I should stop there because I'm highly irritated at the lack of respect that has been shown by many towards our flag and our country just because they don't like the man in the office. We should show a United front in my opinion.) Let's go in, get it over with, with as little loss as possible.
Ooh, I am really sorry for that soapbox, and I apologize if I offend anyone, I just am glad so many of us will not let fear control us and we are very lucky to have WDW to help lift our spirits in such troubling times.
