Curious, Soy Milk at Disney Resorts?

hey, i haven't been to disney since oct. 2004. i was wondering if any of the disney resorts got hip to the whole lactose intolerance thing and started selling soy milk in a single serving container at their counter service resort restaurants. i've had a milk allergy since i was born, spent quite a few weeks in the hospital before they figured this out (granted it was 1968, LOL). i'm more than sure there are plenty of children and adults that would appreciate being able to have a bowl of cereal or a glass of milk w/ one of their meals, even if it was just available at the resorts. personally, stuff like lactaid pills doesn't work for me. and, i can't get calcium from vitamin supplements either, bothers me.... i know, i know.... i'm a mess, lol so, if you've seen it, could you let me know?

I saw the small size of Silk at the Boardwalk's grocery store in August. If you are in a resort with a fridge maybe you could buy that and keep it in the fridge.

Re: Curious, Soy Milk at Disney Resorts?

thanks alot wish!! at least i know if they don't sell it at all the resorts, there's the option to stop at the boardwalk as my last stop of the day and go back to my resort and put it in a fridge or ice bucket and, who knows, maybe someone will pop out of the woodwork and say they've seen it somewhere else too!! however, i'm happy to see at least ONE place on disney property has it. disney is great, even if it is only at one resort, it's a start!!

this may be a little off subject, but i needed to know.....

if you have an issue with just processed cheeses, but not milk in general, is that a form of lactose intollerance? if so, what can i take to help alleviate the symptoms?

Just out of curiosity I looked on the grocery list for Boardwalk resort and it's NOT on there I am hoping this doesn't mean they aren't selling it anymore, maybe they just don't offer it for room delivery. OK, I would definately call and ask before you make the trip all the way over there. The name of the store with the grocery in it is "Screen Door General Store." I am also going to suggest the Outpost stores at Fort Wilderness, they have a HUGE grocery section.

chris 24, yeah, you probably have a touch of LA....certain things can bother you more than others. i know for me, the heavier the concentration of enzymes (heavy cream, ice cream, etc) the worse my symptoms are . however i can sneak a slice of pizza and remain relatively unscathed as long as i keep it to one piece...i mean, it bothers me, but mildly, and i don't know why it's an exception, LOL. if i were you, i would try taking a lactaid pill before eating those cheeses, it does work for people, just doesn't work well for me. you can find lactaid at basically any foodstore or drugstore. if that doesn't do the trick for you, ask your doctor about what would be good for you. it's probably a good idea that your doctor know something like that anyway, lactose can be found in alot of things that you wouldn't dream of, including medication!! and, for instance, if cheese bothers you, don't forget about things like doritos and cheese puffs!!
