Ideas For Graduation Gift

My niece is graduating from high school in May. She is going to DW to celebrate. I want my gift to her to be something at DW, related to DW or something she can use on the trip. Any brilliant/creative ideas?:hmmm

Well, I know that at DTD, and maybe in a shop at MK, there was a shop that engraved onto crystal (and other things) they had some neat things. Maybe you could find a nice statue or something and engrave her name and graduation date on there!?

What about having a welcome basket delivered to her room and perhaps a card with some enclosed Disney Dollars?

Is she going on to college? I'd get her a WDW duffel bag, and fill it with Disney towels, Disney linens, Mickey toothbrush (and I think they have toothpaste), Mickey mug, instant coffee, etc.

Disney dollars are a great gift! I can't think of a more perfect time for them.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but a digital camera would make a fabuous gift. I'd give that one before her graduation, so she could capture grad nite memories.

You could also call WDW Merchandising and get one of the Pal Mickey's sent up before her trip. (the interactive Mickey plush that talks through the parks) That's a brand spankin' new item, and if she's traveling with other teens, will most likely be a hot commodity.

I love the crystal, too, the shops that sell them are the Arribas brothers shops.

What's her favorite character? How close areyou to her? You could always turn this into a scavenger hunt and send her last gift down to her hotel at Disney.

OK, getting carried away, someone sit on me...

Oh wow, you people are creative!! I know who I will be getting suggestions from when we go for my DD's 5th birthday in 2005! ;)

I REALLY like the gift basket idea! That would thrill me if I were her! Does Disney graduation buttons like the birthday buttons??? That would be a nice extra for her.

Mattomouse man kicks of his rubey slipp.....umm, takes of his fedora and raincoat. Rushes into the room and executes a perfect shoestring tackle on Mickeymac. He reaches for ever handy utility belt and grabs a roll of DUCT TAPE and tapes Mickeymac's mouth shut.........

But hey you did have some good ideas though! The scavanger hunt sounds neat!

Matto, DH says as long as you position the duct tape so that it gets the Middle Age Mom chin hairs, he's entirely supportative of your plan.

But watch out if you do... I've got a bottle of tabasco sauce and I'm not afraid to use it!

Scavenger hunt... do you know who she's going down with? What her favorite character is? Basically, what I would do is give her a clue to her first gift, and let her guess it. If she guesses it right, then she gets another clue, and so on. Mail her final gift to her hotel (is she staying on site?) to arrive the day after she gets there. Or some variation of this. Base the clues on her favorite movie, or character, or thing to do, etc.

Let's say her favorite character is Goofy. Send her a clue (you could even do it "anonymouse-ly" :D been hanging around here too long) something like this:
"You're laughter is silly, you're great to have 'round,
But now school is done, it's time to settle down.
Before you do that, grab some 'corn and pretzel sticks,
And see if you can guess, this really goofy pix?"
You'd then give her An Extremely Goofy Movie, and the next clue. Since EGM deals with Goofy graduating and moving off to college, come up with a poem about graduation and moving on, and make her a T-shirt with "Lisa's D-World Tour" (her name of course) and Goofy on it. And so on. Does that make sense?
