Sorry, but I have to vent for a second.
I am tired of people trying to make me feel bad for planning another trip to Disney. I have gone many times over the years because I ENJOY IT! It's that simple. Lately though, when I tell people I am planning another trip to WDW I have to listen to them comment on how I was just there. Or asking why I am spending more money going back when I was there not too long ago. And my particular favorites are the ones who have to state that they haven't had a chance to go once and I am planning on going again. Like I have been hogging Disney or it is some sort of secret club.
I am tired of the comments from these people who I feel are trying to make me feel bad for finding a place I enjoy. I feel like shouting at them to mind their business.
Anyone else get these comments for going to WDW so many times??

I get these comments every single year from people when I start planning again. I simply say it's the only place I want to go and enjoy going. If the comments persist, I have been known to tell people to uh..."stick it" to put it mildly..lol Who cares what other people think anyway? Think of all the really bad things you could be doing with that money...spending it at a clean, family-friendly, magical theme park is better than going to the casinos and losing it all...or many other examples I can think of. I would just simply not even give these people the satisfaction of a responce....

I mostly ignore them. It just gets under my skin that I get questioned on how and where I spend my time and money. I should mention that a large portion of these comments come from DH's family.

I use to get them from my family, but when they saw how into the planning I got and how excited the trips made me, they stopped asking. I have very few hobbies and outlets, so these trips are important to me. Once your Dh's family sees that (and they will), the questions will stop I hope. Mt family just wants me to be happy. I rarely go out or take day trips, so they like that I have this one "thing" every year that brings me such joy. If his family can't see that or deal with that, that is totally their problem....not yours. You keep planning away and just think of all the great memories your family will have later on....that's what I do.

Taking an idea from Dana, you might tell DH's family that you are going to blow it all in Vegas!

Um, my DH is the one asking WHY we go back every single year!

Seriously, I don't care what ANYONE thinks. I just love it there, and I hate explaining WHY I love it so much. It's not the same experience for everyone, but those who don't feel the magic shouldn't ruin it for the rest of us.

I actually get it from my parents all the time. "How can you afford it?" Because, they come from the School of WDW Is Too Expensive For The Common Folk.

They can't comprehend the Florida Seasonal Pass, for some reason. Oh well. It hasn't stopped us!

I hear it too! I don't go nearly as often as some people do (I would if I could!

) But, I hear the comments about trying something different, instead of the same vacation everytime. Like Dana said, we don't do day trips or have very much free time and this is one place that makes the whole family happy and you really feel like your in another world when your at WDW and that is so nice when your "real world" is so crazy! My inlaws keep talking about cruises- "well, next time we'll have to go on a cruise....". They don't understand why we go to Disney. They were not invited on our next WDW trip because last time they kept talking about the prices and how a cruise is all-inclusive...yada..yada...yada....I'l take Disney any day!!

they are just jealous because all they ever do is sit around their houses complaining how dismal their lives are. WE are the enlightened ones who have been to the happiest of places, and have been bitten by the disney bug. the only cure for this is many, many trips to WDW.........forget them, they wouldn't understand even if you tried to explain it to them.....

Even my own mother tortures me about the Disney thing.

But hey -- it is perfect for each of us... DH has his excellent golf, DS and DD have the rides and water parks, and I have magic all around. Perfect. Simply perfect in every way, to almost quote Mary Poppins.

The good news: People who pick on you about your vacation spot will NOT be at WDW! LOL
