Thread-related pop-ups

Is anyone else getting pop-ups that seem to be related to key words in the threads they are reading?? These don't seem to be random- I have pop-up blocker and they are appearing anyway. They aren't terribly annoying, but I am curious...

Have you run SpyBot or Ad-Aware lately? Maybe you have some spyware.

They are travel and Disney related. When I was reading the thread about how we met our significant others, I got a matchmaking pop-up! It happens when I first click on a new thread, which makes me think it is thread-related. Maybe I've got spyware or something...

I'm going to scan now- it really seems like spyware becauase it knows what I am doing! My computer is turning into HAL...

No, never any pop ups, I bet you have picked up some spyware.
You should install an anti spyware program. I run Spyware Blaster, Adaware and Spybot on a very regular basis. I hope this keeps my computer saft.

Nope. I'm using Firefox, too, but my pop-up blocker is off for this site because it wouldn't let me get my PM notifications.

No pop-ups here. I run Norton anti-virus with pop-up blocker and Microsoft firewall. It alows me to accept things on my own through the firewall and blocker.

Ok, that's interesting... I use Firefox too, but never turned off my pop-up blockers for MB. I get my notifications for PMs just fine; the only thing it doesn't like is opening them in a separate window and that's not a big deal for me.

Never had any pop-up ads...

I am happy to announce that Ad-Aware has solved my problem!! I think it was something called "zango"- I had an embarassing number of items to quarantine and delete. No more pop-ups!
