Would I be out of line mentioning Special Ocassion?

My DW and I are going to celebrate our 10 year anniversary at WDW in April. I've read in some postings and other articles that you should make sure and tell everyone if it is a special ocassion. When I made our Hotel Reservations, I casually mentioned to the CR that it was our anniversary. I am not looking for a freebee but I also want to make sure we are noticed. Would I be out of line if I call back and make sure they are aware of it? :) :) :)

Sure, you can let the Hotel know. We did for our friends, when we were celebrating our Anniversarys. They left us a picture , signed by Mickey, in a picture frame, was really cute. Also, if you make any priority reservations for the restaurants, you might want to mention that it's your Anniversary.
I remember when we celebrated my DD's and son-in-laws first wedding Anniversary at Cinderella's Castle, they were given champagne glasses, sang to, and free desert. It was quite special for them. !!!! Happy Anniversary, and Good Luck to you!!! JOANN

By all means tell everyone especially when making PS arrangements. They will usually make a big deal and possibly set up a special dessert or something else appropriate.

Tell them, tell them, tell them! I was too scared to mention it on our trip and I'm now kicking myself because we saw a couple celebrating their anniversary and the restaurant made a big deal over them. Believe me when we go for DD's birthday everyone in WDW will know it! ;)

Tell them!!! I'm going to WDW in June to celebrate my DS bday! And I told them in my reservations, and when making PS!! I just called the other day to see about ordering a cake. But even if you don't order a cake they said they'd bring out a cup cake, and have a place mat w/all the characters signatures. I've been told that he may get balloons in the room, or at least a card. I know it varries on what will happen, but it is always worth it to mention it everywhere you go!!!!! I know you'll have such a great time!!!!

tell them!

It's sounding like an Echo in here but TELL THEM! lol. My mom didn't mention it until check-in at the Contemporary last year and I guess it was to late of a notice for them to do anything special. I would call them back with a few "questions" and then mention that it was the big 1-0 and your so excited to celebrate it at WDW. It wouldn't hurt at all to let them know. Now this time when making ressies for the AKL my mom mentioned that it was her 18th anniversary that weekend and the Cast Member seemed very interested and asked how many years it was agian at the end of the conversation. I'll let you know if we get anything special in the room! Hope you have a great trip!
Joe:)

Ok..do you need proof that it works?

Port Orleans (Anniversary)- given a coupon for a champagne toast at check in

Coral Reef (Birthday)- Tiramisu with candles and Happy Birthday candy

Coral Reef (Wedding Day)- cake and champagne toast

BoardWalk Inn (Anniversary)- small cake and all the trimmings brought to our room

Tony's Town Square (Wedding Day)- dessert and the whole restaurant toasted us

If I were your wife and you didn't, I'd say you were out of line NOT to call back. :D

Boy am I jealous!!!:hmmm

We went last year and mentionned that my hubby and I were celebrating our 12 year anniversary (and that we had honeymooned at WDW) with breakfast at Ohana's and all we got was a signed certificate when we checked in with the hostess.

Oh well...I would definitely call back ...maybe it will make a difference! If not, take this........

Glad you are going to call back. My friend, who is a Disney fanatic and goes often, told CRO that they were going for their 10th Anniversary. When they got to the Yacht Club check-in, they had been upgraded and there was a cake waiting for them in their room. Mind you, each and every time they go to WDW, they stay at the Yacht Club so that may have had an impact.

Have a wonderful celebration! :)
