Our (hopefully) Final Trip Plans

It's been a crazy week coordinating everybody for our upcoming trip. There's so much involved here!

It will be our family (6) and two friends (2) driving down together. My girlfriend from HS and her family (4) will be driving down 2 days prior and staying at the Poly for 5 of the same days. Jen B and I are going to the Pirate and Princess Party together on Jan. 22 (8) Stu's parents (2) will be joining us for part of the trip (but they can't decide what days ~ hello people, ADRs have to be made!!!)

So away, that's alot of people.

I've been waiting to talk to my HS friend about maybe getting to together for dinner but I gave up LOL (it's only 65 days!) I spoke with her this afternoon and we decided to meet at the parks and for QS lunch since her kiddos are younger and they eat earlier.

JenB and I were originally going to do Ohana together on night, but we've got so many places we want to try we didn't want to do Ohana twice (Stu HAS to do Ohana the first night) Her and I are going to sneak away for breakfast, just us the day she checks in and do the P&P party on the 22nd.

So....I don't even know why I'm rambleing on about this and that...just had to vent to all of you who know what it's like to plan for one family, nevermind trying to coordinate 5 separate groups of people.

After much discussion and compromise, I'd like to share our vacation plans:

January 14th 12am ~ Meet our friends in NJ at this 24hr. diner and hit the road to Lumberton, NC (about 12 hours drive time) after a late meal.
(hoping the kids sleep for most of the trip)

Check into a Suite at the Quality in NC just off I-95 for the night. We hope to be in NC by 3:00 pm. Good nights rest!

January 15th ~ an early start down I -95 to Daytona Beach area (Erin's a sweetheart and is helping me find a good place to stay!) It's about another 7 hours drive that day. We hope to be in FL by early evening.

January 16th ~ another early start for the last 1.5 hours of our trip to WDW!! and checkin at POP. MK will be our first stop! Dinner at Ohana @ 9:05 pm. We're hoping to catch wishes from the Poly Beach at 8pm

January 17th ~ Spend some time at AK in the morning. Meet my HS friend at AK for lunch. Dinner at LTT at 7:35

January 18th ~ Breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 8am. Spend the morning at Epcot (maybe) Then over to MGM where we'll most likely spend the rest day. Dinner at Prime Time Cafe at 5:15. EMH at MGM that night.

January 19th ~ Whatever we want day. Maybe one of the Water Parks or Disney Quest. Depends on the weather. Dinner at Whispering Canyon at 8:20. My HS friend leaves this day.

January 20th ~ Breakfast at Ohana at 8:30am. More relaxation :) Dinner (just the adults) at Coral Reef at 8:50. (Pop Pizza Delievery for the kids) Then a night out at Pleasure Island.

January 21 ~ Sneaking off with JenB in the morning. Late start to the parks. EPCOT day!!! Dinner at LeCellier at 8:50

January 22 ~ Check out of POP, shop at DTD then head to MK. Say goodbye to our friends (they are leaving midday) Dinner at Crystal Palace at 5:40pm. Pirate & Princess Party at 7:30 ~ midnight. Wave goodbye to Mickey and head down I-95 to Port. St. Lucie.

January 23 & 24 ~ spend time with Stu's family and relax from our vacation.

January 25 ~ travel straight back NC (about 11 hrs.) and stay at the same Quaility Inn.

January 26 ~ NC to PA!! Hopeing to be home and starting my TR by 8pm.

For those of you who are still reading ~ thanks!!!

I'm so excited!!! Ya think we were leaving tomorrow!!

Your plans are great. I can't imagine how hard it was to compromise and work everyone's wants and needs into your trip. You did a fantastic job! It's going to be a perfect trip.

Everything sounds great! I can't believe that you managed to arrange ADR's for everyone and find time to hang out with your HS friend, impressive! You guys are going to have a great trip!

I've actually called WDW Dine two more times today to add Stu's parents to Ohana and to add Damian and Tiffany to Crystal Palace....

I've printed our itinerary so hopefully no more changes LOL

I've been working on this all night LOL ~ it seems our trip keeps getting longer and longer

Updated Plans:

January 14th 12am ~ Meet our friends in NJ at this 24hr. diner and hit the road to Lumberton, NC (about 12 hours drive time) after a late meal.
(hoping the kids sleep for most of the trip) Check into a Suite at the Quality in NC just off I-95 for the night.

January 15th ~ an early start down I -95 to Daytona Beach. We're still undecided between two hotels, one on the beach, one off.

January 16th ~ another early start for the last 1.5 hours of our trip to WDW!! and checkin at POP. Dinner at Ohana @ 9:05 pm. We're hoping to catch wishes from the Poly Beach at 8pm

January 17th ~ Spend some time at AK in the morning. Meet my HS friend at AK for lunch. Dinner at LTT at 7:35

January 27th ~ spend the morning in WDW, head out of Orlando and on our way home by 12 pm. Stay over in Lumberton, NC.

January 28th ~ meet an old friend for lunch in Lumberton and head home around noon!
