Disney Wall of Shame

I'm working on my trip report. Once again, it's becoming the length of a novel because I simply can't shut up.

In the meanwhile, I must bring to your attention the egregious errors in grammar and science that we encountered on our trip. There turned out to be only three that grabbed my attention. Two of them were discovered on my first day, so I thought there'd be a lot more.

Number 1: From the Earl of Sandwich menu board.

Just for Kid's WHAT? There shouldn't be an apostrophe. This is not a possessive or a contraction. Does no one proofread? This sort of thing just makes me cringe.

Apparently this doesn't just wave from the car, it offers some sort of legal exemption.

Re: Disney Wall of Shame

Fantasy is wonderful. And encouraging dreams and spaceflight and exploration? Everybody sing: "These are a few of my favorite things..."

But to do it in a way that is just scientifically illiterate, when you had every idea in the world open to you? Shameful.

Aerodynamics? AERODYNAMICS? To allow interstellar flight?

That particular one is really bad. It is so rampant though, that I almost didn't catch it. I am afraid that sometimes I get caught up making this mistake myself. My only excuse: I am a furrigner
(yes, I no hou too speel furrigner......... )

Now this makes for a very interesting trip report- I tend to notice things like this as well. Most of the time its a collection of oxymorons- created by well, Morons

Re: Disney Wall of Shame

The misplaced apostrophe really gets to me too. Like Dopey said though, it is rampant. Rampant to the point where I sometimes miss it, and other times catch myself doing it, which irritates me.

Another one that you see and hear all the time: "should of went". It's a three word phrase that contains two grammatical errors. Obviously my grammar and spelling are not perfect, so I'm not passing judgment on anyone who makes these errors, but even I know that that should be "should have (or should've) gone".

Re: Disney Wall of Shame

Gulp! I don't see a problem with the aerodynamics entry. I can see how advances in aerodynamics could, in fact, advance space travel. Even enable scientists, especially Disney scientists, to design cars that can pop right off the speedway and out into space and head over to a star... Someone please explain to me what I am missing!

aer·o·dy·nam·ics /[air-oh-dahy-nam-iks] –n. (used with a singular verb) the branch of mechanics that deals with the motion of air and other gases and with the effects of such motion on bodies in the medium.

OMG, I see that so much here and it pains me to read it. You are so right! It actually makes me stop reading those posts alltogether.

How about this one? The other day I read a market sign: "Rasberry's" I could not go into that store. Could not

This needs to be sent into Jay Leno (or is it David Letterman? - I don't watch much TV).

Re: Disney Wall of Shame

I thought I was the only person who did this. Thank you for admitting to this. My DD thinks I'm insane. I went through the drive through at kentucky fried chicken about a month ago and made sure to tell the cashier that they spelled three things wrong on their sign....lol

Space is a vacuum. No air. That's all.

Our spaceships are built aerodynamically because they have to escape our atmosphere. Once they're out of it... their shape doesn't matter.
