How long do you keep your Disney stuff?

OK everybody! Gather 'round. I have a couple of VERY IMPORTANT questions..

I'm Spring Cleaning *gasp*and I'm going through everything that I own (and have collected over the years). Keep in mind that I do not have pack-rat syndrome.

*How long do you keep guide books? I have many guidebooks dated from 1996 until 2002.

*How long do you keep vacation planning videos? I have many, many videos.

*Would you buy an outdated video or travel guide?

(Oh, and don't worry Mickey...I'm not advertising my stuff, just looking for advice!):)

Keep Some Throw Away the Junk

My daughter keeps most of our Disney stuff, maps, tickets, old room keys, etc. Normally I would keep the VHS tapes, but I just viewed the new DVD and wow. Is the DVD great! I am throwing out all of the old Disney VHS tapes.
We also picked up some maps of MK and Epcot last year in French, and she gave them to her French teacher in school. They made a nice addition to her classroom wall and all the students were really interested.
I have kept the Disney fanny packs and we reuse them year to year. But honestly, how many sets of refillable mugs do you need?

Oh Trish, Do you have spring cleaning fever???

I just tossed my old vidoes. I kept the ones from last year and this year. We have two of each.

I would donate the guide books. Remember, if you have one from 1996, it was probably written in 1995. That is ancient history. Keep the ones from 2002, until you can replace it with a new version. maybe your local library would like them. ;)

OH my gosh, My kids use the mugs in the sand box and on the beach.:D

I seem to keep the guide books for a couple years then I recycle them. I don't keep the vacation videos. If you were selling, I wouldn't buy. I keep the maps and tickets, room cards. Things of that nature. Things I can't buy at stores or get anywhere else.

Guidebooks head to my library, tickets and paraphenalia go into my scrapbooks, and you're darn tootin' I keep my videos! We use them for "Fantasy Nights" before we leave on our trip. :D

I'm thinking of wallpapering the bathroom with our Annual Passes...

always. . .

It is really cool to look back and see the changes--what room keys looked like "way back when".

I am one of the people who tries to keep all of my Disney stuff. I was doing this until we had over 2 feet of water in our basement. I lost all of our Disney stuff I put in a box. I have a few things left that were not stored and the room keys, but we lost everything paper in the great basement flood of 2001. I guess I will just have to start again this summer.

Although I don't do it on purpose, if I come across some old Guidebooks, I save them. I have saved the first video I ever received but I am sending my DVD to my cousin in England. I really hate to get rid of anything Disney. :)

Have fun spring cleaning!
