Attention all PA, NJ, NY, DE, CT and all other North easterners.... I just got an email about this years Magic Meets date, info .... (last year it was called Dis Meets)
I'll post the email below... Please don't delay in signing up as people got left out last year because the event SOLD OUT!!!
I think I might stay the weekend this time.... Read on...

Happy New Year everyone! This is the year of the 2007 MagicMeet! What I
expect to be the biggest and best one yet! With us having a new name
and new venue there are LOTS of logistics going on behind the scenes and
let me tell you, I've been REALLY busy!

HOTEL ROOM INFORMATION
==========================
Are you planning to attend the 2007 MagicMeet? You can now book your
room! The room requires a credit card to hold it but they don't actually
charge to the card until we get closer to the event date. Again, this
is not a pre-payment it's a hold.

We were able to negotiate a fantastic group rate for those attending.
The rack rate is $162 and up plus tax per night. Our group rate is $119
per night plus tax! This covers rooms booked for Thursday 7/12, Friday
7/13, Saturday 7/14, and Sunday 7/15. At this time, there is no option
to book online. Please note that there is a best rate of $129 on the
Radisson website but it requires payment at the time of booking and you
cannot cancel without losing at least 1 night payment.

I ask for those considering attending and staying overnight to please
use our group code when booking your rooms. You should know that by
doing so, you are helping us keep our costs down. If we don't sustain a
minimum block of rooms there are substantial fees that would need to be
paid for the ballrooms we will use for the event. Fees that we can fully
or partially avoid paying depending on the size of our room block.

Please also consider coming in the night before the meet (Friday) and
staying through Sunday. We may have something special planned for Friday
night. Perhaps an exclusive pre-meet hospitality event. More details on
that later. Make a family weekend of it all. The hotel is 20 minutes
away from Hershey Park. I am working with Hershey to arrange for a group
rate. More info on that later as well.

For those that are coming from far far away, (hehe) the hotel has
complimentary transportation to and from the local airport for guests that
are staying overnight at the hotel.

WHO'S COMING SO FAR?

We've been working hard at making this event the most that it can be!
So far we have quite a few people that have committed to coming to this
year's event! Many of them are veterans of past year events. I should
add that for now, this list is tentative. Many of our special guests
have stated they will or may be attending but we are still firming up the
commitments.

THE REGISTRATION SYSTEM
==========================
We are beta testing the new registration system. It's not quite ready
but we are REALLY close. There will be a few new features added but we
are spreading those out so we can get everyone signed up. I know I
know...many of you have been asking when. Right now I can say...SOON! Maybe
we'll have it ready within a few days. With football playoffs taking a
lot of my time this weekend (Go Giants and Go Jets!) I am hesitant to
promise anything. :) I know my friend Mike Scopa will be cheering on his
hometown Patriots too!

SPONSORS
==========================
We can't do this event without sponsors anymore. Last year they really
made a difference in the overwhelming success of the 2006 Fans
Gathering. This year will be no different. With the new (larger) venue, our
sponsors will be essential to help defray the costs involved. If you would
like to sponsor the event please email fred@magicmeets.com to discuss
further. There are several ways to sponsor. Communities, authors, and
more can elect to attend and create a presence with a 6 foot table or you
can elect to sponsor in print advertising without attending. (but why
would you want to do that?)

VOLUNTEERS
==========================
Yup! We'll need them! I firmly believe that much of my event's success
comes from my volunteers that work so hard to make it a great day!!!
Remember....my volunteers pay to get in to the event just like everyone
else does and still give it their all without complaint. If you are
interested in volunteering, send an email over to Colleen as she will be in
charge of the volunteers again this year. You can email her at

As much as I would like to go, I have my trip in August and won't be able to sqeeze money out for this too. That and my DD swims on the weekends in July. Oh well...hope everyone has a great time!

How far is it from you?
Iam driving from Jersey and it's about 3hrs....
It stinks but we had SO MUCH FUN last year that there is now way that I would miss it this year!!!

They give away things, there is raffle baskets and even the centerpiece goes to someone at the table, you meet cool people and Dave Marx was giving away passporter books! Iam kicking myself that I didnt' get my lazy butt out of my chair and snag a DCL one! I dig get a DL one when I went to Dave Marx's little seminar.
They also gave away Dole Whips and some sticky buns at another seminar.

I can't wait for this years!!!
It's supposed to be BIGGER and BETTER!!!

Although I have loved Disney for years I am relatively new to these groups. I live in Texas and wanted to know if you knew of any Mouse Meets that take place in the south that I could possibly attend?

Only Mouse Fest in December, it's held the first week and it's half on the DCL and half at WDW.

WOW! That is cheap! I am going to see if my Theresa wants to come with me. She is Emerson something or other on here. We wouldn't be staying overnight but it's not that bad of a drive for us.

the only time he's req'd to sit at the table is during meal time and a couple of presentations. The rest of the time they are in the kids room, playing and eating... lol

Val... Miss SMIG and I live in Stroudsburg not far from the crossings...
Hershey is about 2 to 2.5 hours away... Let me see what I can do.
Is there a Hilton near by, got a few Hilton points to use....
