I have all the luck... Last night at work an entire shelf of boxed, put together yourself furniture fell down and hit me on the top of the head. I didn't get knocked out, but the force of the blow made me stagger (no one can believe I wasn't knocked out the boxes weigh 25lbs each and there was no less than 8 on the shelf). I was sore last night, but felt ok. I woke up this morning super shakey, but went in to work anyway. Once there, I started throwing up and got dizzy. I had to get my Mom to come and get me to drive me to the ER around 10am cause there was no way I was going to be able to drive. The symtpons kept getting worse and my neck hurt too. Conclusion, I have a major consussion and am not allowed to work for a week...I have inventory on the 9th....this is amazing. Things just don't stop happening to me at this place...there's a cloud over that store I sware it. I had to get a scan and xrays...the doctor thought I had brusing on the brain cause I was unable to follow his finger with my eyes...crazy stuff. I never get hurt... oh well. I guess a week off won't kill me. I think the week off from the gym might, but the work part won't. So how was your day? lol

Awe Dana...I'm sorry that you got hurt. Happy that you have a week off from that place...but this is no way to get some time off. I can't believe they didn't make you go to the hospital when it happened though! Hope you recover quickly and that you aren't in too much pain. (((HUGS)))

Dana, I'm so sorry this happened to you.

I'm really surprised they didn't have you go to the hospital last night.

Usually when the kids have hit their heads, the doctor has me wake them up every two hours to make sure they are alright.

Please take care and get some much deserved rest.

It was my decision to not go last night. I was the only manager on and had no coverage to actually leave. When I left work, I didn't really feel all that bad..just sore. The rest kicked in early this morning...kinda strange actually. You would think it would have hit me immediately. Oh well. I have to wake up every 2-4 hours for the first 48 hours and then don't have to. That's what the hospital intructions say anyway. Thanks for the concern.

Oh Dana... get some rest- dont stress- its workmans comp and your inventory wont matter if you end up in the hospital. Im surprised they did not accuse you of doing it on purpose just to get out of inventory - LOL....

I had that happen to me where a ladder fell and hit me on the head. I had to close the shop and go to the ER because I had no insurance at the time and it was the proper procedure to go asap. No other manager could come in so the store was closed.

Well, dag gone that stinks!! But it is a serious injury. Maybe we should all take turns and call you every couple of hours...you would not get any sleep but you would not get lonely. Take time to get well..catchup on some good ole Disney movies!!
