I just saw a thing on the DIS site about a pirate cruise for the kids... anyone tried that yet? (Is that new? I have to call right now- I'll be back after I call them!)

My son went in December and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!!! He is 5. We went to the one at the Grand Floridian. It is ADORABLE!!!! If I ever finish my Trip Report, I'll post the pics!!!!! (hmmm...maybe I'll do more tonight!)

They get Pirate Mickey Ears to keep when they get there. Then they go on the boat and they go and look for treasure around Bay Lake! They also provide lunch which was a PB&J Uncrustable, Apple Juice Box, package of Goldfish crackers and a BIG Rice Krispy Treat. When they are getting off the boat ofter the cruise is over, they get a special surprise to take home...a pirate box FILLED with treasure! Like the ones you can fill yourself at the end of POTC ride.

I am DEFINITELY without a doubt booking this for my August trip for my son.

So, the booty they give you at the end is worth the money for the trip and for the experience? Thanks so much! I just called and I am trying to decide if I should send him from the Yacht Club the morning of the day we go to the Pirate and Princess party- to make him feel like a pirate ALL DAY LONG or just send him a different day to keep it lasting longer! So many choices and I LOVE them all! Is this new?

I don't know about the one at the Yacht Club, just that the one from the Grand Floridian is the original and I got recommendations on here from Disney Teacher.

Is it new? I don't think so. If you're planning to book it, make sure you book it 180 days out because it fills up QUICK!!!!!! When I called at 180 days late afternoon, they only had 1 slot left and we went in December!!!!
