Should I renew our annual passes?
I was thinking about it today and I really am not sure if we should renew our annual passes or not. I know 2006 was a BIG Disney year for us; we made 4 seperate trips, using our passes a total of 22 days. Although, our annual passes expire this Spring and I honestly don't forsee an as active year to come.
We know we are going to DL in June which doesn't count obviously but we are already booked for 8 days in November in WDW. I honestly don't forsee us taking another "short" trip next year, especially if we want to do an international trip in Spring '08. So, I looked up ticket prices and if we buy a 7 day park hopper for our November trip the total would be $496.00 If I renew our DVC annual passes the total would be $608. What do you think I should do? Just renew the annual passes "in case" & for the discounts. Or save the extra $112. What should I do?

Re: Should I renew our annual passes?
Get the AP's. You are at least entitled to other discounts on property with that if a short trip doesn't pop up. I think you are going to find yourself making another short trip like this year.....knowing you...cmon wish you know you are going to plan something spur of the moment and kick yourself for not getting those APs now.

Re: Should I renew our annual passes?
I know you and I think you are going to want to go back for a short trip - especially since you are a DVC owner. I would just get the AP's. UNLESS you feel that the AP's are what keep you going back and you want to cut back. I don't think we are renewing ours.

Renew.
You know you'll want to sneak in a last minute trip sometime this year and with the AP it'll make the decision that much easier!

AP ! If you can get a cheap airfare, it is cheaper to go to WDW then stay at the Jersey Shore !!

Re: Should I renew our annual passes?
renew....at 112 bucks, you might save that with the lunchtime dining discount at Epcot on one trip alone. (if they still have those discounts, I guess I should check that out)
![]() Well, it seems they do have the 10% lunch discount but to save 112 you'd have to eat a lot of food in one week and of course that's assuming you're not doing DDP. Last edited by jo-jo; 02-05-2007 at 07:13 AM. |

I agree with the others...renew! You know you're gonna go back.

Re: Should I renew our annual passes?
Yeah, I guess the extra $112. is worth the "just in case." I think we're gonna renew, I jut hope that doesn't ENCOURAGE me to go back 15 more times this year

Re: Should I renew our annual passes?
Be aware if you renew, the pass goes into effect from the expiry date of your present pass. So, if your pass is up at - say - the end of March and you renew - that's when your new pass will take effect - and what if you don't get back until June? - three months wasted. We found this out the hard way.
I don't know if this applies to regular APs - but it sure does if they're DVC APs. Buy a new pass on the first day of your next trip. I think it's about a $30 dollar difference.
