I just finished filling out my Disney resort survey. I am not sure how you end up on the list, but they seemed to know I was at a conference. Anyhow I spent just under 2 hours filling it out and I really wish I had had more room for a few of my answers. I figure Disney spends so much time on the details that I would really think about my answers and make sure I gave them the details.

I did manage to get a plug in there for both MouseBuzz and Mouseketrips as it was appropriate to the questions asked.

The only thing I felt bad about was I could not remember the names of all the folks that made this such a wonderful trip. And the worst part is I ALWAYS take the time to read a CMs badge and call them by name, again I feel it is the least I can do.

Next time out I am thinking I want to bring an autograph book for the CMs that made the trip great. That way I can alway say thank you properly.

Harry - that is wonderdul idea...can't forget anyone's name that way. I have tried to be more careful about writing down cm's names when they do something right. I have just started going to the manager of the resort at the end of the trip and telling them every person that was just fantastic and why. They appreciate it....believe me. I have done it the last two trips and intend to do it again this trip.

I have never had one of their surveys. I do hope I get to do one. I have many things that I would love to say to them. I wouldn't mind plugging mousebuzz or mousektrips either..lol

I'm still regretting I didn't mention the CM we met at Soarin' - I THINK her name was Theresa. She was just so wonderful, and friendly and nice. Just made my whole day better. People like her deserve recognition.

Good idea about getting all the names, I try to remember the great CM by name but most of teh time there are just too many by the end of our trip.

That is a very good idea. I always like to make it a point to give kudos to the people that go the extra mile to make our days magical. There was a guy at Animal Kingdom at the Wildlife Express Train that just made the biggest deal of it being my son's birthday. He had us laughing so hard.

I did have one occasion; however, that I was extremely upset with the service I encountered at a restaurant at MK. My daughter had come down with a stomach virus the day of our arrival and needless to say she could not keep anything down for a couple of days. When she finally said one day that she was hungry I hightailed it to this restaurant (the name escapes me but it's near the castle on Main Street). I asked for a chicken noodle soup to go and the CM very indignantly told me that if I did not have an ADR I could not enter the restaurant. Even after I explained my situation to her and that I did NOT want a table she gave me the same answer. I was so angry that I found another CM that was a manager and he very politely took care of the situation and did not charge me a thing and ended our conversation with "I hope your daughter is feeling better." Which is how the other CM should have acted in the first place. I had her name etched in my memory and filed an email with Disney. Less than two weeks later my daughter received an apology letter in the mail along with an autographed picture of Minnie Mouse, a Minnie Mouse headband and $10 in Disney Dollars.

wow monique - that 2nd CM & the one who took care of your email knew what it meant to go the extra mile. I am glad they got it taken care of, and even made it more special after the fact. Managers love hearing about the good things - its so rare that anyone tells the good stuff -seems people are quick to complain, but just don't take the time to tell anyone if its above standards. I try to compliment as much as possible, it really makes a server /salesperson/etc feel good when a customer tells their boss how great they were. (I know from experience)

Speaking as a former CM, it was always considered a bonus if a guest wrote a compliment to you at Guest Relations. The fact that you took time out of your vacation to acknowledge a CM weighed very heavily in the minds of management. So, if you do run into an exemplary CM in one of the parks, stop by Guest Relations on your way out and give them a "thank you."
