Disney CM's question

I thought I read this somewhere............. Is there a way to recogizine a CM for outstanding service ? I have run into some CM's that have really made our vacations special and would love to let their bosses know.
Thanks!

I think the best way is to purchase pins from What Would Walt Do?. They come with pins mounted on cards that explain the significance of the pins. I think the cost is about $15 for three pins, pre-mounted. Many of the CMs know what the pins signify, and those who don't, you can explain it to them.

Can I also put in my own personal favorite? Ask for their bosses name and write to them. It gets a permanent placement in their personnel file, and goes towards promotions, raises, whatnot. It costs you a half hour and a stamp, and can really affect a person's life.

I have to agree, I will send a note. But I will also ask to see a supervisor and report a helpful CM.

Unfortunatly, I have experienced a less than CM and have sent letters about that also. We had a horrible bus driver in Dec 02. He was so negative, complained about wages, insurance, said he was waiting for another job to come along. I couldn't wait to get home to jot down my opinion of this guy, so, I mailed it from the hotel.

The pins Mickey mentioned are a really nice thought. I also agree whole heartedly with MickeyMac's idea of a letter. I'm going off subject here but... I taught elementary school before my DD was born and sometimes parents would write letters to either me or my principal or fill out comment cards in the school office about a positive experience their child had in my classroom. My principal made a point to share those letters with me and I have saved every one of them! Sometimes when you go through the motions of your job it is easy to forget about the lives you touch. Everyone needs and deserves to be reminded that their efforts are appreciated and remembered. WDW cast members make it possible for us to enjoy our favoite place so why not give a little pat on the back when it is due?!

I agree, we usually only speak up when we have a negative comment about something/someone. I try to make a point of letting people know when I am pleased with service.

My DH even called our trash collector's main HQ and told them what a great job our trash man was doing. He always backs up our long drive and honks or just gets our trash out of the shed if we forget!! How often does that happen?? Most would hit the gas in hopes of getting by your house before you spot them so they don't have to wait for you to run it out!!! (Sorry if there are any trash collectors out there reading this--I'm sure you would never do that!!)

To compliment a Cast Member

Easiest way to do it would be to email wdw.guest.communications@disney.com

They are usually very good and not only writing back but also making sure that the Cast Members who are mentioned are recognized

Hope this helps! :)

I've got to remember COMPLIMENTING people better and not COMPLAINING. Thanks for the reminder.
