Disney wedding question

I know at least several Forum members have been married at WDW, so I am hoping to get some advice. I didn't really get an answer to my question when I tried the wedding website.
We have booked 3 villas at OKW in Oct 2003 and my stepdaughter and her fiance will be staying in one of them. They want to have as small and as simple a wedding as possible and have not found the right situation yet. She mentioned that since the people she wanted to attend would be there, it might be nice to be married at WDW.
It appears that everything that Disney offers comes as a package including accomodations, which we already have, and park passes that we will already have. Is it possible to just have a ceremony somewhere on the grounds with an approved minister(we are willing to pay of course) and then just make priority seatings for one of the restaurants afterwards?
Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

graybill

All weddings on the grounds of WDW must go through Disney Weddings. Have you talked to them and see what options, if any, they give you?

The last itme we were at the Yacht club there was a small wedding held at the little wedding pavilion there. They did have the bride show up in Cinderella's carrige and Mickey and Minne were in attendance, but that seemed pretty calm by WDW standards.

Hope this helps,
-harry

That sounds so perfect, Graybill! We had a very small ceremony and reception at the WL. It was perfect!

The first thing I would suggest is get the phone number for Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. Once you call you will be put in contact with a consultant. Have an idea of what you want...and they will help you work out all the details.

We didn't use a package plan...and we didn't even use all of the components of an Intimate Wedding. We didn't use the limo option....instead I chose to have beautiful flowers and a photographer (which I highly recommend!).

When you have a consultant, they will help you and your DD plan the perfect Intimate Wedding. BTW, Congratulations!

My DH and I were married in Disney back in June 2002 at the Polynesian Sunset Pointe. We went thru Disney weddings and our wedding was very small the 2 of us and my best friend and his best friend. When I made the plans the only thing that the wedding dept stated was that we had to be staying on Disney Property. We didnt have to get our passes etc thru them and the other people in our wedding didnt have to be on property either. (It just so happens that they did). We booked everything passes, flowers ETC thru disney because it was just easier. The best thing that I would say would be call Disney weddings (The# is on the web page) and tell them what you are thinking about doing and they will be more than happy to help you. They are all so nice. I hope this helped. :) GOOD LUCK Did you order the video? (Its worth a look at)

Disney wedding question

Thanks so much for the help!
It sounds like they might be able to get just what they want. The next step will be to call a consultant and go from there.
It's so great to know that there are always members of the Forum to help no matter what your Disney question might be.

Thanks again.

Be sure to keep us posted on the decisions and how everything works out. One day I'd love to get married there!!

:hmmm Umm...but first I need to find my prince charming  ..he'd *have* to be a disney fan, and then be willing to fork up the $$ for the carriage ride... Just kidding about the carrige ride...but he'd still have to love disney as much as me. Until then, I have to live through everyone else getting married there!! The last 2 times i was at the Grand Floridian, I've seen couple there after just being married, to have pictures taken! How beautiful!!
