Guess who's going to spend Christmas at WDW?

ME!!!

I can't believe it! My DH came home from work today and told me we're going to WDW for Christmas! I've always wanted to go at Christmas but knew it was going to be years before we could do it. I guess I was wrong.

Now I have to start planning and learning about Disney in December. I'm looking at booking POR since resort rates are so high at that time. I know I want to go to MVMCP. I'm not sure where we want to have Christmas dinner yet--any ideas? Tickets are taken care of, we're now getting APs this summer so we won't have to buy tickets.

I have the best husband!

Oh, you are so lucky. We've never been there the week of Christmas, but many times when all the Christmas decorations were up. It's so special. Enjoy!

Stephanie that is so so so exciting. You are going to have the best time. We loved MVMCP. We went on a weekday and there were not too many people.

The decorations everywhere are beautiful. OH I can't wait for the TR and pictures of course.

Ok, for those of you who have been in the summer and at Christmas is Christmas waaay worse than July? Right now we are looking at a short 4-5 day trip with Christmas day being our last day.

This whole trip depends on the right school calendar next year. We should know for sure after the school board meeting in a couple of weeks. We had 4 calendars to vote on and 3 of the 4 had the right break for this trip to work.

That's what I was thinking--we go in the summer every year so we're used to the crowds. Honestly, I wouldn't care if we did much other than walk around and enjoy the atmosphere and cool weather. I am still in shock about this, it doesn't seem real yet but my DH says it's happening. We still have to tell our parents that we won't be home for Christmas day, I'm sure they will be ok with it but I'm already feeling guilty. My DH says a Christmas trip will mean more now than when Nathan is older so we need to do it now. I think he sees how fast Nathan's growing up making things like this more important.

Oh gosh, yes, they do grow up soo fast. My dh and I were just talking about it this weekend too. Your parents will be ok. Maybe you could agree to celebrate Christmas on a different day. I do know what you mean about feeling guilty, though!

When I think about all the junk I spend money on at Christmas it would probably be pretty close to the money spent on a Disney trip. AND memories to last forever. Nathan will NEVER forget the Christmas he spent in Disney. Oh, don't you just tear up thinking about it???

It was all his idea, he totally surprised me tonight. He said he thought about planning the whole trip as a surprise but then decided he better let me do the planning. One of my principals always goes to WDW at Christmas and he was talking to her today, I think I owe her a thank you!!
