So,
I am at a loss for a really fun surprise for our next trip. Every year I book something fun like breakfast in the castle ect...

I wanted really badly to book AKL Savannah view for one night as a surprise for my dd(11) on our girls only trip in Dec. I just cannot justify the cost for one night! It is almost half of the cost of our 7 day trip with tickets!

We will be there Dec 9-16 this year and are not big Christmas fans-no offense meant to those who are. We actually moved the dates to get the great discount. I hear the decorations are fabulous though:)

So while the rest of the "world" is doing Mickey's X-mas party, what would you suggest?

I was considering Cirque or something that she will really remember. (She is a very mature 11 year old). We have done many of the character meals and loved them but I would like this to be something new. We LOVE pirates, Haunted Mansion and the naughty Villians but Tink is on our favorites list too. Too bad there is not a villians meal LOL!

Actually I think Cirque is a great idea. She will definitely remember that.

You could also do a behind the scenes tour, or The chef thing at Epcot. I can't remember what its called. I will try to find it for you.

What about DQ? hmmmm.. Im interested to see what poeple say because my DD 10 is very mature and isnt in to the whole princess thing. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Rofl... in Minnesota, DQ is an ice cream shop!

A chef thing would be AWESOME! Her favorite show is Ace of Cakes... and she "creates" desserts all the time. I swear she'll be a pastry chef someday and I.... her doting, caring, loving mom who has bent to her every whim and cared for her whilst she was ill will reap the rewards! Basically, she will owe me a few good meals!

I'm not sure of your budget but what about going to a spa. The GF has a mother daughter package. It's about $450 for 2 hrs but I know my 12 year old will love it. If that's too expensive you could just get your nails done. We're leaving in 3 days...During our trip we are going to the Premium outlets to look at the Coach and Dooney Bourke purses. We have a love for them and they say the outlets are 25-65% off. We are also planning on renting a surry bike (not sure if spelled correct). We budgeted six months ahead of time for those little extras.

Why not book one of the tours? Disney do a fair few of them and if she loves Disney as much as the rest of us she will really enjoy one of the tours, theres a guide to most of them i think over at allears.net . I think Cirque is a great idea, we loved it back in June, such a fun night out and you could team it with a meal downtown somewhere and make a night of it!

Our "budget" for this will be under $200 unless it includes a stay in the castle or something really cool :) I have always wanted to swim w/dolphins but is Dec too cold?
I think I will call Disney and see about tours and Circque. Most of the cool tours are for 16+... She could pass for 16 height and behavior-wise but I know we would get caught and thrown out or something- LOL!

wHAT ABOUT THE AFTERNOON TEA AT THE GRAND FLORIDIAN, ESPECIALLY IF SHE IS IN TO BAKING. THEY HAVE THE HUGE GINGERBREAD HOUSE THERE AND THE TEA IS REALLY GREAT!!

Oohhh, I forgot about the gingerbread house! We saw that on the special last year on Food Network! She did think that was awesome!

Geesh, pretty soon I will have too many ideas and have to choose ! LOL! Be careful what you wish for!
