Let's Think Happy Thoughts!

To keep things happy-go-lucky around here, just wanted to know everyones happiest memories. Either from your childhood, or from you child's!! (Disney related or not!But since this is Disney Central, I"m sure we'll have plenty of Disney Memories!!)

My happy memory is going to WDW and riding on Dumbo with my mother! (I have to ride this everytime we go now w/my son!) Also, riding on Mr. Toads wild ride with my father. At a point in the ride, we are running into a Train coming our way...I got really scared and said to my dad "Here you drive!!!:nooo: :nervous ) Haha, even thinking of that now makes me laugh!! I think I was 5 or 6 at the time!

My happy thoughts w/my son, is watching the Spectro Magic with him for the first time! To see his face and how excited he was watching this parade! Also, the first time we had dinner w/the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern. He was so afraid of the characters, didn't want *anything* to do with them!! Until Chip came over, and started messing w/my hair, flipping it in my face, and laughing and kissing me...Brandon thought that was really cool. The change of look on his face was awsome!! After that, he wasn't afraid of the characters! And to this day, Chip is one of his favorites!! I got some really awsome video and pictures of his first happy moment w/a Disney character!! It was the best!:D

HMMMMM Happy thoughts? The first time I went to DL way back in the early 70's. It was time of personal turmoil (My dad had passed on the year before) and my mom took my sister and I to DL for our first big vacation. It was a wonderful time. I remember walking into the park and being taken aback by the beauty of it all, Main St, The Matterhorn and the Castle. Taking in the rides Pirates and haunted Mansion (To this day they are my favorite rides and always on my MUST ride list). Everytime I pass a place like a restraunt or a country club that has white lights in the trees, I think of DL. I remember the taste of the fried chicken at, now I think it was a Crystal Palace type resturant at the end of Main St.

I remember going back in 1987 and having a rush of the same wonderful feelings!

And then going the last two years with my DS's to WDW and reliving those memories and creating new ones!

OK Mickeymac, yes I am big sap!:) :)

Hello
My favorite memory also involves Disney. We took our four kids for the first time in December 1999 to Disneyland. We took them out of school and went during the second week of December. I had never been there either and I did not know what to expect. (Isn't that child abuse that my parents never took me?) To my surprise, we walked on most rides except for the weekends.

We were at the park for 5 days and we could have been there longer. Our trip lasted for 6 days and the best part of it was that we did not have one fight with the kids the whole time . I think we were in awe of the place and were having too much fun (if you know my kids they normally fight daily).

I have since been to Disney World twice with the kids but nothing beats the first trip. It was without a doubt the best vacation I have ever had in my entire life.:D

I think my hapiest Disney moment was seeing Robert Urich be the Celebrity narrator for the Candlelight Processional at Christmas time. He seemed so happy to be alive. It's a shame he died less than 2 years later. I'll always be grateful I got to see him then.

Everytime I hear "When You Wish Upon A Star" it reminds me of watching the Wonderful World Of Disney on Sunday nights at 6:00pm. I always knew the movie was about to start.:)

Great idea, GG!

I have no words to describe my happiest memory at WDW. Let's just say that a wonderful man was standing on a balcony at the Wilderness Lodge in his dress blues....

My heart just skipped a beat.

My happiest memory was the first time my little ones saw the parade in MK. I couldn't watch it because I couldn't take my eyes off them. When my daughter saw Belle and Ariel her mouth dropped and her eyes widened. I cried... :)

There is just *something* about walking into the MK, and your first full glance of the Castle!! It is so magical! I've been to the MK maybe 35 or more times in my life, and I still get the goose bumps and that *feeling* everytime!:D

One funny (for me) Disney memory is going with my parents and my older brother. He wears glasses and when we were getting in the car to leave the park (the only one at the time, MK), my blue Mickey ear balloon popped and a piece landed smack dab between his face and his glasses! I still laugh now but to a 5 year-old, it was hillarious!!:laugh
