When to start planning for this ??
Hi,
I know we haven't even left yet for this years Disney trip, but it looks like we'll be going again next year. The big catch is that we'll have a whole bunch of people joining us next time. Looks like a total of 11 people (3) families, and we'll need (3) rooms. I was thinking of trying to rent points from a DVC member, but not sure if anyone would have as many points as we'd need available. I guess what I'm really asking is for any advice from anyone that has planned a trip for this many people, and when I should start planning. Thanks in advance!!!

I don't have any advice on renting the points since i've never done it before and I'm not sure how far ahead you can rent points but as far as when to start planning? Today:D It sounds like it will be a great trip, you are very lucky to get to go again so soon.

I have a group of 27 that I am planning for right now, and we have most of it booked 10 1/2 months ahead of time. We will be going the end of February, 2004, and will hit WDW for a week and then a 7 night Disney Cruise.
As far as points, you should start looking now. You can book at your home resort 11 months in advance. I would suggest figuring out how many points you will need (I can help with that) and start looking. You may not be able to find all of the points from one person, but you should be able to get all the points you need from a couple of people.

Thanks Mickey!! I guess I should get started ASAP. If you could let me know how many total points I'd need for (3) studio rooms at either BCV or OKW, that would be great!!!Looking to go in May 2004.
I'm still up in the air about where to stay. May end up going with one of the All-Stars or a moderate and not do the points thing at all. Also, if you know this... should I (for now) just worry about getting the rooms booked with a deposit. And when do you start looking for airfare? Thanks, I know we'll all get our park hoppers at the Disney Store whenever we have some extra bucks to spend over the course of the year.

Beach Club Villas:
Sunday through Thursday Night: 13 points Friday and Saturday Night: 29 points Old Key West: Sunday through Thursday Night: 10 points Friday and Saturday Night: 24 points The points are per room per night. So, if you stay for a week, 3 studios at OKW, you are looking at 294 points. As far as just going with normal rooms, you don't need to do that yet. I would suggest waiting until room rates have been announced for 2004, and then get your rooms on hold. As far as airfare, we usually start looking about 6 months out. I know that rates we have paid in the past, so I just watch for something close to that. I know if I can find something around $200, it is a great deal, and I jump on it.

Thanks again Mickey! You've been a great help. Sure looks like OKW would be the best deal for rented points.

Hi Buzzlightyear,
We always start planning as soon as possible. It's never to early to think about another Disney trip. Plus, if there is any questions you have to ask a cast member, you will be in DW. Maybe you can check out other resturants you will want to go too. Other places to stay, too. Since you are going to be there soon, check out what you can. Janelle
