Spaceship Earth...Now that's a lot of stairs!

Two days of work so far at Spaceship Earth.

I don't think my legs have ever burned so bad.

I have been learning all the exits through the stairwells. It's been a great workout, but it's hard. So if you ever have the urge to jump from the ride, DON'T! Because I don't like running the stairs. lol.

I love working there though. The cast members are awesome and it's such an icon of the park. I love being back at Disney and interacting with the guests.

And I am not just at Epcot. Sunday, I will be handing out wristbands for EMHs at the MK. I plan to pick up shifts all over the place.

And now for some exciting news and a confirmation to the rumor....

Yes, it's true. Spaceship Earth will be going down for a refurbishment after the 4th of July until hopefully before Thanksgiving. The imagineers are going to be doing some awesome things with it and giving it a much needed update. That's all I will mention for now. But in the meantime, it means I get to be cross-trained somewhere else which will be fun.

Can't wait to meet lots of MBers there!

Sorry about your legs! Just think-before you know it, you'll have awesome thighs!!

That really stinks that SE will be closed during our trip! My DS wanted to go in again-I have never been-so I don't know what it is like!

That's so cool that you get to work at MK too...things are so completely different in Disneyland. You are totally stuck wherever you work. Period. (Except for guest control...but sometimes that can really suck...

)

Thats super good news about the refurb. SE is one of my favorite attractions and I can't wait to see it when its finished.

We loved all the CMs that worked at SE! Maybe it was because it's such an icon but they were the most laidback, friendly and easygoing CM we came across--and we found all but one CM to be super fiendly, so that says a lot about the CMs at that ride.

I am happy to hear it's getting a rehab. Last Oct being our only trip, my DH and I found SE to be an odd, sort of mixed bag of an attraction. The cars were SO LOUD!!! The anamatronics were classic Disney and the modern flat screens were cool, but he whole thing seemed sort of pieced together over the years. Don't get me wrong, DH and I liked it, and the kids LOVED it, but it seemed like it wasn't all on the same page.

I can't wait for the refurbishment on this attraction!!!! That is very good news!!!! Unfortunately I will miss it while Iam there in August but I will get to see the newer updated version in December, hopefully!

OK, I am SO HAPPY that this ride is getting a facelift!!!!!! It REALLY deserves one!!!!! HOWEVER, why does it have to be during MY trip???

Now there will be TWO must-dos for us that will be closed...SE and HM. SO UPSETTING....

. Hey, if and when I go back next year, at least I will have something to look forward to!!!
