Pirates movie story?

What exactly is the movie going to be about? There wasn't just one central character that I can remember. I love the ride, but I can't imagine that it's just based on that!!

From what I can gather it is about some pirate booty (Gold) that has been cursed (Hence the title "Curse of the Black Pearl"). From I have seen of the trailers a maiden has been kidnapped and her beloved is going to try and save her with the help of Johnny Dep's character (A notorious Pirate). Partt of the curse is that when the "badguy" Pirates are inthe moonlight they become walking skeletons. I think that is it in a nutshell. I'm sure the plot is more invovled. :);pirate:

If you go to yahoo and type in Pirates of the Caribbean the site will be available in the choices.

:D Thank you mattomouseman! Looks pretty good. Wouldn't have imagined Johnny Depp in the role though! But who knows he's done so many different things! Can't wait to see it!!!
