How soon do you start packing for your WDW trip??
Ok, today I'm at the 44 day mark(or maybe 43?). Anyways, I'm feeling the need, the need to pack!! hehe!! :laugh I'm ready to pull out a suitcase and start packing thinks that I don't need to use now. Like the presents I'm bringing for my son, extra shampoos and lotions, new clothes for the trip. I've even bought a snack or two that will (hopefully) stay fresh until our trip!
So my question to you is....how soon do you start packing for your trips???

I started packing the night before, I'm a procrastinator so that is actually really good for me. I did lay the stuff out like 3 days before but it doesn't usually make into the luggage until the night before.

WOW, i just can't see waiting until the last minute to start packing!! (you can tell i'm an impatient person! ) I'm ready to start now!! I have to know that I have all the things that I need ahead of time! Like camcorder batteries and blank tapes, digital camera rechargable batterties (just orderd both an extra set of batteries this week!!), I don't have to worry about film now that I have the digital camera! But you get the idea.....

To answer the original question, it depends on when the flight is leaving. I usually don't pack until about an hour before we are supposed to leave, or less, depending upon what is happening. Drives Minnie crazy.

I begin buying the little things for the trip a couple of months in advance, like the throw-away rain poncho at the dollar store...water bottles and such. I have a huge box I mark for Disney Trip and just leave it out and add things as I fond them on sale. The big packing starts a couple of days before....but my husband is a last minute packer, but you know he never seems to forget anything.....;)

Since we seem to go to WDW 3 or 4 times a year, we usually come home and wash our clothes for the next trip and repack them in our vacuum packs and put them back into the suitcases. Except for our winter trip clothes. (This also make sure that we keep to our diets so we can fit into them each time.) The toilet articles are replished when they are on sale. About the only thing we replace alot is our walking shoes. April/May, September clothes are replaced as needed.
We use to pack about two weeks before hand to insure that we had everything.

Grrrr... my husband does this too, and then spends that hour listing off everything he's packing, and askign ME what he's forgetting... I do something similar as you, DisneyCouple - where did you get those vacuum bags though?? There's stuff we ONLY use at Disney, like our suntan lotion, fanny packs, lanyards, AP's, etc that always stay in our suitcase. Then I add stuff like trinkets from clearance bins at the Disney Store (or clearance pins), snacks, and add to the suitcases. The last week is spent packing and unpacking a kajillion times, wondering what I've forgotten, but it makes me feel like I'm one step closer to my vacation so I don't erradicate this totally compulsive behavior... :D

We found them at Walmart a couple of times, but before that it was at a little store that sold TV merchandise at one of the big discounts malls. They are great because we can put all our clothes in one suitcase and then put our shoes and other stuff in another. Then when we come back we have room for soviniers(sp) and other stuff.

I start packing in my head weeks ahead of leaving. :p
I then write down a "shopping list" of items to take so I don't forget anything. :nooo: Then, about 3 to 4 days before, I start putting in things that I know I won't be using. :D This way I make sure I have all the items I need and can still add or eliminate things that I change my mind on. At the very last minute I usually add a couple of things that I am not so sure about but take anyway. Usually, I end up bringing them home unused. :( Alway make sure to leave enough room for a few shirts to bring home with you! :laugh

I'll have the suit cases in everyones room 14 days before the trip so we can start packing as the last few weeks go by.
Seems to work great for us.

We are leaving on Monday morning. Luckily for us we only have a 50 minute drive to the POR resort. I am starting to gather items to pack this evening. My DW hates to pack so I get to do all of the fun.
