Concierge Room & Dining Plan
Planning my dream 40th bday trip (well the plans are still all in my head right now
) and am trying to think what my ideal trip would be like.I think I narrowed it down to the Poly with a MK view. Oh, that would be great! So I've always dreamed about staying in a Concierge room but we really like the dining plan. So my question is, is it overkill to have a Conierge level room (I'm assuming that they have various foods and drink set out during the day) AND all the food that comes with the dining plan? Oh and another question. When I go to the Disney website to look at pricing it shows an option of a conceirge room and then the next option down is a MK view room (no concierge) - so how do you choose conceirge room with a MK view? Whew...I'm confused now. Any help would be appreciated! after all I only have 500+ days to plan this!!![]()

Re: Concierge Room & Dining Plan
Well, I think it will depend on how much time you plan on spending at the resort. I would be overkill if you plan on hanging around the resort all day. If you will be in the parks all day, and just using concierge for breakfast and snacks, it would be fine. Just remember concierge ads about $100 per night onto the cost of a similar room without concierge.
My guess is the dates you were looking at, all of the theme park view rooms were sold out, so they were just not showing up for you. Check some other dates, see if it appears.

Re: Concierge Room & Dining Plan
I personally dont think it is worth it to spend the extra $100+ just to have some snacks sitting on a table. I think that you would save money if you just book the MK view only. Good luck on your plans!!

Re: Concierge Room & Dining Plan
Well it would be a total splurge - and when it actually comes down to it, I probably wouldn't do the concierge, but just thought it wouldn't hurt to hear more info about it. If anyone has stayed in those rooms at the Poly please let me know about your experience.
Also, are there MK views that aren't concierge? I was under the impression that all the MK views were in the concierge longhouses. thanks!

Re: Concierge Room & Dining Plan
I know it is a lot of money, and we would probably never splurge on it, but it WOULD be cool to have a concierge room someday!

Re: Concierge Room & Dining Plan
Happy Almost Birthday SSN!
I've stayed at both the Poly and Contemporary concierge levels. MK view at the CR is MUCH closer and service is much, much better than at the poly. If there is bad weather you are going to get wet getting to your room. I love spending the end of the day in the lounge on the 15th floor or on the balcony of my room watching the castle change colors and the monorails going to bed--a beautiful end the the day! The newly decorated rooms speak elegance and comfort (except for the unusual sinks). Staff at the Poly seem disorganized and uninterested. CR staff go out of their way to see that you have a fantastic vacation. I can't wait to go back! A couple of advantages with Concierge: they help plan your vacation before you arrive, secure excellent seating for difficult to get meals and shows, breakfast and snacks are a done deal, including snacks and drinks kids love. For adults, there is complementary wine, beer, etc. SSN, you should treat yourself--you only turn 40 once; and if you let them know it's your birthday magical things happen during your stay! |
