Disney Spouse or Significant Other
I was wondering how many people have spouse or significant other that either loves WDW like you do, likes it but could really do without it or hates it. My wife is really in the middle, she likes going to WDW but not every year or even ever other year.
What are some ideas you can give me to make her love it or a least really really like WDW? ![]()

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
My husbans is in the middle. He doesn't mind WDW but to have to go again. ugh!!!
He says that I am worse than our DD. I personally don't think so but I do LOVE to see Disney through her eyes.

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
My DH is in the middle as well. We compromised this year and we are doing half of our vacation at Disney and part of at Clearwater Beach. He says he does it for DD and me, but I think if the truth be told he likes it just as much as we do and doesn't want to admit it!!

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
My hubby loves Disney just as much as me!! It really makes the planning more fun when you have a comrade. The only downfall is that you don't have someone to keep your spending grounded, lol!!

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
My husband's one of those in the middle as well. He hates it when I want to go, once there, he has the time of his life.
It must not be masculine enough for him to admit it in public ![]()

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
My DH is a convert. He resisted at first, but now sees how much DD and I enjoy it and figures "if you can't beat them, join them"
However, our next trip is just DD, my Mom, and I. He couldn't take more time off from work. His boss is really tough on him. (self-employed. )

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
The Dave loves WDW but..sometimes he forgets how much he loves it. During most of the trip planning he rolls his eyes when for the 80 millionth time I ask him "what the very first thing he wants to do when we get to WDW" is..but about two weeks before the trip he startes to get realllllllllllllllyyy excitied..sometimes even more so than me! And when we are there he LLLLLLLLLOOOOOVVVVVESSS it and acts like he wants to come back everyday...the eye rolling starts up again in the car ride home when I start talking about our next trip!

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
DH loves it there and will go back anytime at the drop of a hat.
As for the planning part, he hates that and leaves it all up to me (and that's okay!) ![]()

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
DH is as much, if not more of a Disney Geek as me!
I'd been dozens of times before we met and he had never been. Since we got married (at the MK) we now have annual passes, have enjoyed the bonus of staying on-site and go several times a year. Helps to be FL residents.

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
My DH went so many times as a kid. He could take it or leave it. I think he puts up with the trips because he loves me and wants us to have a happy marriage

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
After our first trip, hubby was like..."eh...it was ok, I don't feel like I need to go back though." That was 3 trips ago. I still didn't think he was completely sold.
A couple months ago, we were talking, and I said: "I thought you didn't really like it there." He says: "ok, fine! I like it! But don't tell anybody!" hehehehe...I knew it!!!

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
I thank my lucky stars EVERY single day that I found someone that loves Disney as much as I do. He may not be as fanatical as I am but he'd easily go three times a year and still miss it after we get home. He grew up going with his family twice a year so marrying me was just like continuing the trend.
The only thing we DON'T agree on is Disneyland, I personally LOVE IT there and can go every year. He's very "ehhh" about it and would rather go to WDW anytime.Daydreamer I know you asked what you can do to get your wife to love going more. My only suggestion would be to treat her to a long weekend there alone (no kids if possible). I'd pull out ALL the stops; stay at the Grand Floridian for 3 nights, get her a massage, nice dinner, relaxation, and maybe she'll be more likely to want to take a longer family vacation there the next time!

Re: Disney Spouse or Significant Other
DH is in the middle. He likes it, but he doesn't long to go nearly as much as I do. If I had my way we'd go at least four times a year! I guess the main issue is DH wants to vacation other places as well, not just Disney. I told him we can do that when the boys are older...lol!
