honestly...tell me the truth.....is this cheesey??

my DD loves Goofy, and there isn't alot out there that is girly & Goofy at the same time. yeah a few t-shirts, but that's about it. so i was thinking......

i could take a denim jeans jumper and have a really cute Gooofy grafic airbrushed on it and then add a bit of extra details, like sequins, ribbon, etc.

has anyone else made outfits using ideas like this?
if so, how did they turn out?

the airbrush place says it's NOT a problem to do disney characters. it will run about $25 for that part. then the jumper and the extra notions i plan to add. it will total about $40.

i think my DD will love it & i think she will have fun wearing while we are in disney and at home too. i have seen similar items on ebay, but the graphic was hand painted or embroidered....so here's the real question.........is airbrushing...just tacky???

just wasn't too sure about the airbrushing...kinda reminds me of touristy "spring break beach" t-shirts.

but i am confident in the artist. and i am hoping by adding the extra ribbons, sequins and what-nots...it will be MORE than just an airbrushed jumper.

thinking i might add a fabric ruffle to the bottom of the jumper...we'll see..

i will post a pic. when i get it done. (if i can figure out how to do that!LOL ~last time the pics. i posted were grainy)

anyway, thanks for telling me what i wanted to hear!! LOL

Char, before our trip I bought some custom hairbows for my DD from a gal on ebay. She told me she had most disney characters to embroider (sp??) on the bows with her machine. She could do any color ribbon and a few different styles. I bet she has Goofy. I believe her username is lilahsmommy, she was wonderful to work with!

well.....i had a 40% off coupon for joann's. so megan and i went over there to just see hwat they had in the way of disney fabric, etc. not really a good varitey in the fabric. but then i started talking to a sales girl there nad telling her my idea for the jumper. she asked if i had any personal experiance painting. I DO! ( i was an art major in college, but it was pottery, and textiles mostly...like making tapestries on a loom, or sculpture on a wheel or freehand ~ exhibiton art.) i did have to take a few drawing and painting classes, but it was not my fave, and i'm realy not all that good.

but the sales girl went onto say how simple if would be for me to take an image and just draw it out and then paint it in. so as i strolled along through t he store i got to thinking...why not give it a shot??!! i have some jeans that will fit megan next year that i got from my SIL that are a bit faded and have a couple of tiny spots on them. so i am going to use those and do a minnie on one leg, and a mickey on the other!! i am sooo excited. i am going to see how this comes out and might try to do the goofy jumper myself!! ~ although goofy seems like he might be harder to draw.

i will post pics. of the jeans when i get them done, as well as the jumper...however /whoever ends up doing that one...it's a must! :c)

asked megan this moring who would she rather have breakfast with...cinderella or goofy. she said goofy. then she asked if he would be at the castle too. i told her "no, only the princesses are at the castle", she said, "then let's eat with cinderella". LOL

i told here not to worry, we might be able to do both, and if not...we will still see goofy in the park!

i never imagined my little princess would have goofy as her favorite character...but, even though she is a princess...but she is very goofy..silly too. so i guess i have a a "goofy princess"!! LOLOLOL

~wish me luck on my craftiness......it's been years since i've tried something like this, and like i said....it's painting on fabric, not mashing clay into dinnerware! LOL

A goofy princess! That is SO cute! You could even make that on a tee, lol!

Here are some photos of two of the bows I bought. I also bought one that is white and has the word Tink on one tail, and has Tink herself embroidered on the other tail. The 4th bow I have is simply a light Cinderella blue, with my DD's name on one of the tails (to wear with her Cinderella costume ). I'm not a big fan of bows for my DD, but I fell in love with these, lol.
