My trip has officially begun when....

At what point do you consider your WDW officially started? What one thing must be done for it to *feel* like a WDW trip? Do you have any speical rituals or traditions for your first night? Last night tradition?

Here are mine:
My trip has officially started when I check in...lol
It *feels* like a WDW trip when I hear Mr. Tyler do the countdown on RnR
Our special rituals for our arrival night usually involves O'hanna's for dinner.

Once we check in and settle in the room, we unpack and have lunch at the resort. WE usually head MGM for RnR before that night is over, so our trip is official. Dinner is usually at O'hanna....we always have an early night.

Our last night there tradition is packing, pizza in the room and acting goofy....must do that. Last year my DD made up an entire dance routine that nearly made me pee in my pants..lol

in WDW. We drop our stuff in our room and head to DTD. My children love to hit WofD and buy some stuff to wear for the next day. On our first full day we have to go to MK and we have to have breakfast at Chef Mickey

My trip officially begins the moment I leave the house for the airport. I get quite jolly and probably annoying to others. LOL.
We have no set tradition after we check in. But on the last day, it is always off to one of the parks for a 1/2 day, shopping, a late lunch somewhere, and then we hang at the pool for the remainder of the day into night.

Once we get in the car (in 5 days!!!)....then it gets better once we see the first Disney World sign(in 6 days!!!).....then even better once we see the MK Arch (in 6 days!!!)........and mo better once we see the Contemporary (in 6 days!!!!)......then in full swing with the first ride on the TTA after the Walk up Main Street.(in 6 days!!!!!!)

I must admitt the trip has me in full excitement the week before....I am out of my mind on the ride to the airport...so excited I can't sleep the night before..lol Once on the flight however, I get tense and turn into commando...everything must be on time etc and I get myself completely and utterly stressed out over any changes..lol Once I actually check in and settle down, I am more myself and start to realize where I am. It's just getting there that makes me nuts. I don't want delays, hesitations or anything that will make me getting there take longer. My DD hates me on the way to WDW...lol The flight check-in people, flight attendants and towncar people must absolutely hate me. It's like you plan for a year and just want EVERYTHING to work out on schedule. Again, once down there and settled down,. I am back to normal.

I think for me it starts when we had out for the airport but it really starts when we check into the hotel! First night the last few years has usually been a pizza (or double bacon cheeseburger at the mara :D ) then we either wander about the hotel or head to DTD for a few hours depending whn we check in. It REALLY fels like a Disney holiday when we finally walk down main street!
Last night usually ends with pizza (or double bacon cheseburger - can you tell I kinda like them? hehe) in the room, last minute packing and a last wander around the hotel.

Ours starts the minute we hit the highway! Our traditions usually include DTD and MK at some point during our first day-usally MK in the evening. LAst day, we spend in MK. I think it's because we have little kids, so we spend a lot of time there. For them, it isn't a trip to WDW for them until they have been to MK and seen the castle.

For me its a few things depends on who I go with....

For me my trip starts when I shut my front door and lock it.

My trip also starts when I have to wake up at 3 am to do my makeup so Mickey wont send me back home

We always go to MK first.Thats the real deal Disney feeling to me. Walking down main street and looking at the castle with tears in my eyes.
The last night I always have to go back to MK. The last night usually is very sad for me as I cry for the most part.
I love to Go to WDW all the time. My DH hates the fact that all I want to do is vacation there. He rather go every few years. My dd8 hates it as well. She is just like her dad. My dd5 loves Disney as much as me. This time around in 9 days will only be us (me and DD5) DH AND DD8 staying home. Whooo hooo for us though...
I like to make new traditions as it happens..

The trip usually starts when I am in the cab on the way to the airport. But now that we drive, it's official once we pack the car and head to the Jersey Turnpike!!! We are officially on our way!!!

Our first night tradition is ALWAYS a trip to DTD. No matter WHERE we stay (onsite or offsite) we ALWAYS go to DTD first. Then we usually go to a park the next day. This trip, we might relax for the first couple of days until we go to a park, I am still undecided about that. We will be there for 10 days and I don't want to drive DH crazy with parks every day!!

Last night is ALWAYS different. This trip, we are doing Chef Mickey's for breakfast on our departure day, right before we start the drive home. Who knows, maybe it will become a new tradition for us??

I am so with all of you. I think it is offical about 1 week before we leave. The night before is so busy and exciting I can't stand it. The relief comes when we drive away and realize where we are going.Disney here we come!!!!!!!!!!

Our trip officially begins for all of us when we get in the car and hit the highway! We have a Wishes CD that we listen to and think about all the magic that's waiting for us.

Then we all settle down and enjoy our ride--the kids watch A LOT of Disney movies--we have one that is a Blizzard Beach sing-a-long DVD, and that really gets them psyched up for the fun!

We don't have any set-in-stone traditions as far as checking in. Sometimes we drive through the night--leave around 9 pm--on those trips we usually have a delicious McDonald's breakfast and hit MK. When we leave the day before and arrive in the evening, we go to DTD to start our shopping at WofD.

It starts once the car is loaded and we are on our way to the airport. We usually arrive at Disney around noon. Once we arrive and check in to the hotel, we head to AK first since we can get through that park in half a day. This year will be a little different since we will be flying in and going to MVMCP on our first night.

I would say that it has "Officially Begun" when we are all packed up and we pull out of the driveway. The long drive is filled with Disney movie watching and singing along to Disney movie soundtracks or Disney Broadway musical soundtracks. That is a great build up to the climax of driving onto the WDW properties, checking into the resort, and entering the first park. I can't wait to go back!!!

Our trip has begun upon arriving at the airport. As far as first night rituals.. definitely checking in of course.... and heading off to Magic Kingdom... to ride Splash Mountain!

I would say that it has "Officially Begun" when we are all packed up and we pull out of the driveway.
