Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!

I LOVE taking pictures - Given the right circumstance, I can go through a roll of film in about 10 minutes! And I would say WDW is a pretty good circumstance but I don't think I can afford that much film, much less having it all developed. LOL! :D

We'll be at WDW for about 8 days and I've been hoarding film to take with us, but I really can't decide how much I should take.

Any suggestions/comments?

figure a roll and 1/2 a day maybe? ohh and there was a link about xrays and film. if your flying you might want to have a look at it

get a digital with lots of memory *grin* I have to say that we take hundreds of pictures, using DH's camera, the girls each have camera's and I also take my digital and video camera. One year it cost over $80.00 for developing!!!!

We usually stay 8 or 9 days and I always take 14 rolls.

Might I suggest a tip that always helps me? I number number each roll...and put an address label on the outside of the roll, in case it falls out of my bag. This will let you keep track of each roll, and help you claim your film in lost and found, if lost.

I lost one roll a few years ago of our son with the Toy Story gang. I spent hours looking and calling lost and found. Unfortunatly, it was never found. :(

When I used a film camera, I always packed 2 rolls per day. Better to have too much film than to have to pay Disney prices when you run out.

Don't forget a spare battery, too.

What a great tip bdavis... I never thought of that and having lost several rolls over the years, I am tickled that there may be a solution. Thanks!

If you can afford it, go with the digital camera. For about $180 you can get a good camera that prints out great 4x6 prints. $for $269 you can get great 8x10s. And most photo developers now have a kodak machine in which you just bring your memory card and choose the photos you want. It covers the cost of film in one trip. If you get one go 2.0 megapixel or higher.

FYI: If flying - DON'T pack your film (new or exposed) in ANY luggage that will be check-in. They now have super strong x-ray machines that will RUIN all film. Its OK in your carry-on bags. Just don't check it in your luggage!!

Thanks for all the responses and suggestions.

I'd read the posts on x-ray machines in airports and plan to have my film with me, hopefully getting it hand checked.

BDavis - Thanks much for your suggestions. I'll be marking all my film as you suggested. And by numbering each roll, I can keep a list and keep track of what's on which roll of film. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I lost even 1 roll of film. A few years back when there wasn't such a thing as 1-Hour processing, the store where I took my film to be developed LOST a roll of film. I was absolutely sick! Since 1-Hour processing, I've always chosen to go that route. I pay a little more but at least I know it's in the store and the manager happens to be a friend of mine.

I do have a digital camera (2.1 mega pixals) but I think I'll have to invest in another memory stick. And I'll have my camcorder.

I'm sure I'll preserve plenty of memories. Thanks again!
