Suggestions needed for 40th celebration

Any suggestion for what resort hubby and I could visit for our 40th birthdays and 19th wedding anniversary. I thought it would be cool if we did a trip around our wedding anniversary (9/7) and made it a double as we both turn 40 also. Somewhere we could stay at without the kids (if I can arrange this) something romantic and indulgent. We were never away from our kids (never). It would have to be a short trip maybe a long weekend. Suggest away I love to hear them all.

I'd have to pick The Grand Floridian.
Never been there but they tell me it's nice.
It just look awesome, like a great place to be for an anniversary!
Have Fun!!

I'd say Grand Floridian too. It looked really nice when we were there in March for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. But I also hear that the Poly is real nice. Oh and eat at Victoria & Alberts it sounds amazing!

I agree, Grand Floridian would be great. As an option, the Poly or Animal Kingdom Lodge would be nice as well. But, the Grand Floridian was built for special occasions like this, you might as well go ahead and use it.

Wow. This sounds like allot of celebrating. My DW and I were just at WDW celebrating our 10th anniversary, and like you it was the first time both of us were away from our kids.
The resort of course depends on your budget. The Grand Floridian first, then the Poly would be the next best choice. We stayed at a moderate resort, Port Orleans Riverside, because we love the quaintness and the surroundings at Magnolia Bend. Not to mention the rate we got. (Thanks Mickey for the info)
We did a Monday to Wednesday get-a-way and had a great time. I had planned on a romantic get-a-way, but two weeks prior we found out that my wife was unexpectantly expecting. She was nauseous so the dining and romance was pretty calm. On another note, I will be turning 40 in September so maybe we might bump into you if you are there.
Good luck with your planning and I'm sure whatever you choose will be magical.

I'd say Animal Kingdom Lodge because it's secluded and you can see the animals in the safari.

if DH and I could have a romatic getaway I would choose the Poly :) I remember when we were there it was like being a world away .. my second choice would be CBR for a romantic get away .. I know its a moderate resort but ohhh its is just so beautiful at night out by the lake.
