Our trip is officially cancelled...

We did end up cancelling our trip. In fact as I am typing this I am cancelling our ADR's.

Fortunately it is not because of FIL's procedure. It is still scheduled for December 7th. We just really need to put this money towards paying off some bills. If we do that then we can do a longer, better trip in February sometime.
So now our plans for Thanksgiving have changed and I am pretty excited. My sister recently moved to Hampton, VA. Her hubby is Air Force and is stationed at Langley AFB. She just had a baby as well that is 6 weeks old.

My brother is in the Navy and has just returned from a 9 month tour in Iraq. He is stationed at Ft. Meade, MD which is only a couple of hours from Langley. My dad and step mom, my two other sisters, my step sister and my step brother are going to VA for T'giving and my bro and SIL are going to meet them there. So...basically I was the only one of my siblings that would be missing from this "grand gathering". So... after talking it over with DH...we decided to take the trip to VA for Thanksgiving. We will leave Friday the 16th and get there Saturday morning. We will probably do DC one day and Williamsburg another day and make it a really great family vacation! I am really excited about this! It's not Disney but it will be a great time! It has been a long time since all the kids and grandkids have been together at the same time and we will all get to meet baby Drew for the first time!

So...we will not be going to Disney..yet... I am working on booking a trip for February-March, and I will get to spend time with my awesome brother and sisters! Not to mention my adorable nieces and brand new nephew!

Sounds to me like your change of plans is going to be well worth putting off Disney for a while. Nothing can substitute good quality time with family.

Sorry about your trip but it sounds like your holiday will be absolutely wonderful. Nothing better than having the whole family together for the holidays. Williamsburg at that time of year is beautiful as well, you'll have a great time.

I'm glad that you will get to spend all this time with the whole family. Think of how much that will mean to your dad and step-mom to have everyone together. And Disney will still be there in February.

Disney will always be there, you may never have the chance to have your family all together at one time again. I think you made the right choice. Plan B sounds wonderful and paying off those bills will let you enjoy yourself even more. Have a great time.

Not even disney is better than a sweet little baby. I think it sounds like a great trip. Besides I heard the days you were going to disney, it was going to rain, storm, sleet and hail.

So it's a good thing you're not going.

Sorry to hear about Disney being cancelled but it sounds like it will work out better for you as you get to spend time with family and still getting to go to Disney later and spending more time.

Sorry you had to cancel your WDW trip, but you family Thanksgiving/vacation sounds really nice. I think you'll really be glad you spent that time with your family and you can enjoy a longer Disney vacation in Feb.
