I'm a little peeved that the "extra" events, such as the discount Hershey Park tickets are only for those staying at the hotel. I wish I would have known that before I paid. We are staying at a different (less expensive) hotel and were planning on doing Hersheypark the next day. Now I find out we can't get those tickets without staying there??? I'm bummed. We will probably still go but now I have to pay full Price!

If Iam not mistaken, you can still get Hershey Park tickets if your attending the meet.

The things you dont qualify for is like the Pre party on Fri nite which is won by a drawing.

I am under the same assumption as Val, Hershey Park tickets can be purchased by anyone who attends the event.

That's what I thought,too, but when I got my confirmation that I had paid it said something like : only those who are staying there will be able to purchase event tickets and Hershey Park was previously mentioned as one of those events. Something about getting to go into the park early at a special price. I hope we can still get those discount tickets.

UPDATE 3/7/2008: EVERYONE! I just spoke with the hotel. We have in fact filled our room block for Friday and Saturday. Wow.

The important thing to note is this, if you call the hotel DIRECTLY using the information that I sent to the mailing list AND is on our website, you should NOT be told that they will not give you the MagicMeets rate. I was told that as long as people call the hotel DIRECTLY you should still get the rate as a courtesy.

PLEASE DO NOT try to book on the web and DO NOT try calling the Radisson main hotel reservations number. You MUST call the hotel directly. I hope this makes sense. :)

A fantastic group rate for the hotel is available, though space is limited. Our group rate is $124 per night plus tax (compared to the rack rate is $174 and up plus tax). The group rate is available for rooms booked for Wednesday 7/16, Thursday 7/17, Friday 7/18, Saturday 7/19, and Sunday 7/20. At this time, there is no option to book online using the group rate. Please note that there is a best rate of $134 on the Radisson website but it requires payment at the time of booking and you cannot cancel without losing at least 1 night payment.

Why not consider coming in the night before the meet (Friday) and staying through Sunday? It’s a great opportunity to build an entire family weekend around our event! For those that are coming from ‘far, far away’, the hotel has complimentary transportation to and from the local airport for guests that are staying overnight at the hotel.
