There was a afire over the weekend at the hotel where MagicMeets is supposed to be held. From what the news said about half the guest rooms were damaged, but the main ballroom/conference room wasn't. No one was hurt, and the stories vary as to how it actually started. About half the guests were displaced to other hotels, and a wedding reception was interrupted.

Dee, you are from the general area, yes? did you hear about this?

I hope it doesn't affect MagicMeets. I wasn't able to get tickets, but I was still hoping to drive by and smell all the pixie dust in the air!!

I found this out on the Patriot news web site:

The Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center in East Pennsboro Twp. remains open after a Saturday fire that damaged about 60 of the hotel's 250 rooms.

Some of the rooms damaged by the fire remain unavailable.

However, the rest of the hotel's 250 rooms were unscathed, a hotel spokesman said Sunday night.

No cause has been released for the fire, which began around 7:15 p.m. in the roof over a room in the hotel wing of the complex.

Firefighters contained the blaze to that area, but some of the wing's second- and third-floor rooms sustained water and smoke damage, firefighters said.

Nobody was injured, but the fire forced the evacuation of about 400 hotel guests.

Of the roughly 180 rooms that were booked Saturday, about a third were damaged and guests were moved to other hotels, firefighters said.
