Pets in Hotels. Would you bring yours?
I just noticed that resorts at "the other park" have pet friendly rooms.
If Disney had certain resorts that allowed you to let your pet stay with you, would you bring them along on your vacation?

I dont think I would bring my dog to the hotel. I'd be to afraid of what she'll get into while we are away at the parks all day, we might come back and find little suprises all over the place! And I dont think the big mouse would like that! lol. Oh did I mention that my dog's name is Mickey? lol

We have a 11 month old Bichon Friese names "TinkerBelle". My 6 year old DD named her. We happen to have a friend who watched her for us whenever we are out of town. If I had no other options but a local kennel I would bring her along but that would be the only reason to bring her.

My brother got married this weekend, the reception was at the Sheraton Framingham - this gorgeous, glossy, five star PET FRIENDLY Hotel. They were very gracious about my dog sitter quitting at the last minute, very gracious about moving us to a 'pet friendly' room. On the sixth floor. I tried to get us moved to the first floor, but they put us on the top and insisted we wanted to stay there, due to a soccer tournament in the hotel. Well, I've got a very nervous border collie, and a little schipperke, both rescues and normally great dogs. Freaked out on the elevator, had to carry the collie down the hallway, with a ton of kids going "Cute Puppy!" and trying to pet her scared little head, no matter what I said. Someone lets loose a ball, and she became a differnt dog. Leapt out of my arms and down the hallway, heading the ball at every opportunity, and being chased by 10 or 50 kids, all hooting and hollering. My husband is leagues away, holding the schip, ticked off as all get-out. I hobble off after my dog and try to get her to come, but when there's a soccer ball around, she turns into Mr. Hyde. One of the kids caught the ball and she came and we got into the room finally, but things were not looking good. I'll skip the details of the first night, where the schip barked at every opportunity (like, when a kid ran down the hallway, or some of the more celebratory revelors serrenaded my brother down the hallway at 2 in the morning). Next day, I take off with DD to go get shined up and coiffed, leaving DS and DH with the dogs. DH's turn to watch the dogs. Poor sot. :D Well, my brother decided to deliver the tuxes that afternoon (a tad bit late, but hey...) DS had just taken a shower and was wrapped in a towel to let my brother in. Well, the puppy slippled out, my husband (also half dressed - the upper half) starts yelling at my son to go chase him (in a towel, no less) and they start chasing him down the hallway. My brother was in the doorway and let the border collie out, who thinks it's her job to shepard up the puppy. Down the hallway they go. Behind them, my brother stands horrified, and lets the door close behind them, locking them out. They chase the two dogs back down the hallway, and my brother manages to open his suite and shoe them in. DH and DS take a deep breath and call security to let them back into their room. Ten minutes later, they go back to my brother's room and find the puppy very happy to see them, but the border collie hiding in the corner of the room - she got so nervous she'd pooped on the floor. Brother wasn't upset, but he also wasn't pleased that our dog had desecrated his honeymoons suite. Of course, my husband relays this whole story to me during the long mass at church, and I'm trying my best not to laugh my head off. He left right after they said "I do" and brought our dogs back home. I was sad he didn't get to stay, but my brother has a heck of a story to tell. The bride got a good laugh out of it (but doesn't know about the poop part, thankfully - my brother doesn't want to tell her) I will ONLY bring my dogs to a motel, and as a last resort - I think I would cancel my vacation before bringing them again. ![]()

I voted no for two reasons:
We are at the parks a lot when at WDW and I would hate to leave our dog alone in a strange place too long. (Our dog was a rescued dog who didn't have a good life before we got him and has some mental health issues that are best left at home.) Our dog is an 85 pound Black Lab, he would count for another person in the room he is so large.

I truely wish we could take our two Chihuahuas with us, but they are going to be staying with family this time. Our dogs are leash trained and crate trained. They are house broken and usually pretty well behaved. I would love the chance to take them along, but no such luck. Mickey
