Yesterday I was at my nephews birthday party. His mothers friend has a sister who is an executive at WDW Imagineering. Her sister must be high up because she has spent a good deal of time in Hong Kong on that project. She told us that her sister is also working on the 5th gate at WDW> She said that her sister wasn't telling her anything about it to avoid trouble but it is coming.

That's great news! I am anxious to find out what type of theme it will be. I know there were plans at one time to try a history type park in VA that fell through. I heard at one time (through a CM rumor site) they were considering a Villain world. :bandit Any other speculations out there?

Thats great news! lol. I hope this 5th park is an answer to the roller coaster enthusiasts prayers (like myself). Disney really needs to start competing with Islands of Adventure as well! lol A history themed park would be cool, but I dont think it would do anything to attract the teenager crowd, which disney needs lol. Whatever it is, Ill be happy becuase it's going to have the disney touch!

I know the villians theme park has been a rumor for quiet sometime ..years ago while waiting in line at Comedy Warehouse DH and I were talking to a CM also in line to see the show who mentioned this up coming park. that had to be at least 5 years ago .. every now and then I see mention of it. the one thing I think of when there is a mention of a new park is less crowds at the other parks *grin* .. I know it seemed as if AK helped with the crowds at the other parks when it opened

Oh that sounds awesome!! My vote would be for either a villians park, or as I said in another post, a park to rival Sea World!!

Just think of all the amazing things Disney could do with a Sea World type park!!

Like tinkerbell said, the 5th park has been in the rumor mills for quite some time. Imagineering works on many projects that sometimes never see the light of day or get revised into something else.

When Disney opened the Animal Kingdom, they had hopes that the guests would stay longer to see the 4th park. More days, more $$. That is not how it turnd out. Instead, guests have been seeing Animal Kingdom at the expense of more time in one the other 3 parks.

In today's economy and tourism slump, don't get your hopes up for a 5th park that soon. Instead, I would expect Disney would beef up their existing parks in hopes of drawing more guests to them.

I wonder if although people aren't staying longer to see the 4th park....they are however returning more frequently. I know that I already have a list of things to do on our next vacation, that we didn't have time to do this time. It's just so hard to see everything, and with us having to drive, we can't spend as much time there as we'd like. Do you know how the profits were once they opened AK? Did they go up?
