I am not sure if the awards are based on popularity or what, but I have nominated our corner of Disney to this website. I don't know if you want to back my nomination or not. Ya know...growth is good, but can also be bad. What do y'all think?

Oh that's good. I wonder if Mickey has ever nominated this site for something like this before?

I know some sites have to charge because of traffic.....Mickey, are you close to having to do that here? Or is it still manageable? And also, what are your goals for this site...would you like to see more members or is it at a good number as is?

You know, that is a good question. I don't ever nominate DC for awards or anything like this, though I did get us included as a partner on the passporter site, and hopefully listed in the next edition. I don't mind if others do though. I don't think I ever want us to be huge, but it is hard to curtail the growth. I haven't done any advertising for the site since about the first month, and all of the traffic comes from referrals, links or searches.

Right now the bandwith is fine, and all of the costs are being paid by the sponsors. I have no idea about a year from now. There are some things I may do to cut down on the costs, such as limit the size of images posted, etc. I don't ever want to have to charge for the use of DC, even as a volunteer donation. I just think it end up causing more problems than it solves.

to be honest .. I am really glad DC isnt as large as some other sites / forums ..but I really think Mickey and DC deserve awards. over the weekend my granddaughters want to sign up ..but then Mickey has this nice little safe catch to young people signing up. Lil Lisa actually is old enough to sign up without permission but Barbie isnt so we printed out the permission papers, for her mom to sign ..and wouldnt you know it ..she went off and left them here :( but I know my daughter would have no objections to the girls being memebers here .. I sure dont ! I feel they would be very safe on here. of course they are monitored when online here and at home any way

And if I had to pay to be a DC member and keep in touch with all these great people, my wallet would be wide open! lol Now don't go getting any ideas now! lol j/k!

I agree with everyone else...I would be willing if necessary to pay to keep up with everyone here. I really feel like its a little Disney family - you guys have become that important to me that I would pay to keep you......hmmm........sounds a little funny, huh? :love:

Very well said Joe! And would be worth every penny! Mickey, I've said this from the first day I joined, but you do have a wonderful site here.... I'm VERY grateful for it, and for you. You have always answered any questions I've had, and gotten back to me on even the smallest of things. I appreciate that so much. Your site definately deserves this award!! :) :)
