Has anyone ever?

Has anyone ever been talking about how much they LOVE  going to WDW to someone only to get the reply or response of "what is the big attraction?" or "we went & hated it" Or something along those lines?

Just wondering if this had ever happened to anyone else.

Myself & family are about the only one's in our family or circle of friends that enjoy going to WDW every year. We CRAVE to go and DREAM about it. I don't understand how someone else doesn't WANT to or have the DESIRE to go.

Also when talking about Disney, we get the look:nothing: of someone who is secretly thinking "WHY?"

When this first started happening to me, I was kind of embarrased of the fact that we enjoy going so much. After awhile I thought to myself "why should I be embarrased of something that we enjoy so much & enjoy doing together as a family? I shouldn't feel bad because I love DISNEY".

Just wondering if anyone else has gotten the same type of response (maybe this has already been a post at some point)

oh yes .. its happen to me .. and my DH but no I have never been embarrased .. actually I feel sorry for anyone that can go to WDW and not feel the magic!
shoot we never shut up about WDW the other day my nieghbor called to remind us to come over to the cook out and when she asked what we were doing I said "watching our Disney videos" she said "I should have known" and laughed but they do love disney we talked them into going last spring ..they would really like to go back ..and we have been bugging them to make the trip with us this august ..but they said they cant :(

when my husband was still driving for J.B. Hunt him and his fleet manager would get to talking about WDW because she loved to go too and sometimes got to go 2x a year ..well another fleet manager got tired of hearing how great it was so she went ..but came back and said she didnt understand what was so great about it!!!!!! needless to say they didnt talk to her any more *grin*

Oh yeah.......many times. I have never considered Disney a guilty pleasure, but the reactions I get from some folks almost makes me believe that I should.

My mother took us on our last trip and invited all of my brothers and sisters on the same trip - I am the oldest of 6... My family was the only one to go. My sister who lives here in SC couldn't understand why I wanted to go since we "had just been last summer." I have a tendancy to feel sorry for those folks but I hope they find something that gives them as much happiness as WDW does me and my family...:D

By the way...welcome to DC disneeluver...I doubt you will ever find anyone here will treat you that way...and if they do, you need to report them to Mickey...

I was in my local bank waiting in line and this couple started talking about their upcoming vacation and the husband said we have to go to Disney world,I instantly turned around and asked if he was a disney fan and he gave a big grin and said yes and the 3 of us had this lengthy Disney discussion till I had to go up to the teller!:D you should have seen the weird looks that everyone gave the 3 of us!:laugh

My mother gets so annoyed when we start talking about our next trip! She likes to travel but finds Disney is enough every 10 years or so! My DH hates to vacation but WDW is the ONE place he will go every year. We have so much fun as a family it is worth it to him to do it every year. No arguments from the rest of us, we are all Disneynuts. DS#1 plans to work there as soon as he can...

We got that for the past few years from the same people that are finally joining us on our trip next year:whistle:

We converted them with all of our Disney talk and memories! Can't wait to bring them to the World next year and see all their reactions!

Well, I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the ONLY one who has ever gotten a strange reaction when talking about WDW.

A new girl started at work a couple of weeks ago & she too goes every year to WDW now the rest of the girls are kinda giving us that "look" when we start talking about Disney or make Disney comments.

We both agreed that you are either a Disney person or you're not.

Now that my daughter is getting older, she is into the BIG rides such as rollercoasters (we went to Cedar Point last year) and the only thing that she wants to do at WDW is chase characters since there really isn't any big rides there. I've tried to break myself of wanting to go every year but when I get on this website & read all about everyone going or getting ready to go I get the fever again.

You either have it or you don't; I guess I suffer from PDD too! :laugh

I get it all the time! People say I have already been. I say just once? Yeah isn't that enough? I try to explain to them. I tried so hard that my brother said I was crazy. People say it is too ex pensive, but we all know it is all how you plan. I think you have to have a piece of that kid still in you to understand. A believer in pixie dust and the real spirit of Walt Disney.

Oh my - I get it all the time! And yes, I used to feel a bit embarassed by it, but now I don't mind. My DH and I are the only ones (out of our family and friends) who are such Disney fanatics :) We love WDW! We are always trying to convince our family and friends to go with us - we want for everyone to experience the magic so they don't keep looking at us like we are the weirdos. But alas, no takers yet - I guess it doesn't help that we are so far away from WDW and it is a pricey vacation...I wouldn't give it up for anything! Sometimes I feel like we are spending so much time trying to share and explain the magic we feel at WDW, but I don't mind, I could talk about Disney constantly!...Maybe I am a bit weird :)

we also get those looks. When DH and I were dating we would go 1 or 2x a month and take my son (who was 4 at the time) we always had such a great time. In fact one year we asked my MIL to give us annual passes as our christmas gifts :)
Our BIL & SIL could never understand why we liked to get there when the park opened and stay til closing :) thought we were crazy:dazed
We just have so much fun there :)
