Your plans look great!!!!!!! Are you guys getting the Deluxe Dining Plan this time?

Airfares HAVE to come down. You know they always run specials as it gets closer to departure.

NO! I decided against the Deluxe DP. I figured it would cost more and too much food and ADR's, and the other stuff that is included that we dont need. Iam only going over by 3 meals at the moment. If I change my Ressie and come home the nite before, I will be over by 4 meals. NO biggie I always go over. I pick the cheapest meals (usually breakfast's) and pay them OOP.

PERFECT plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do hope the airfares come down. I checked JetBlue for my week and it's $1500 (coming home Sat) - $1900 (coming home Sun) for the 4 of us! Almost $400-$500 per person....AAAAAHHHH!!!! Looks like we'll be driving again!

Re: Well, my ADR's are done!!!

If worst comes to worst, you can always make an adventure out of it with your DD and take Amtrak. It will take about 24 hours to get there but it will cost only $339.00 total roundtrip. That is not per person. That is the total for both of you. If you have AAA you can get it even cheaper.

I have taken Amtrak many times and it is actually a lot of fun. For the long trips, the passenger seats are very roomy and recline, so you don't need to pony up the extra dough for a sleeping car. It is actually quite comfortable in the passenger car as long as you bring a pillow from home.

We brought books, games, cds, dvds (we have a portable DVD) and other items to keep ourselves busy. There is usually a snack car and a dining car, although the dining car can be pricey.

It is a very retro way to travel. I always feel like I am on the Orient Express for some reason.

I have already looked into Amtrak when I was looking for my Mom.
I think it will cost me about $500 (I forget! ) for both me and DD doing the Auto Train.
I think that is the best. Drive to Lorton, Va and do the Auto Train so I dont have to rent a car there. The bad part is the time/gas to get to Lorton Va (about 4hrs?)

This is, if worse comes to worse with airfare. Iam hoping not to do that because I would have to request more time off of work and all.

If you go to Internal Revenue Service they have a place you can put in your ss#, how you filed(single, married, etc) and number of exemptions and it will tell you when to expect your check and if it will be mailed or deposited.

It's true... if you filed with a 3rd Party such as H&R Block, Turbo Tax, etc.. or did a RAC loan,etc... your payment will be delayed and you wont' get DD, you'll get a paper check!!!
Also your information isn't available online until your rebate has actually been processed already!!!!

I filed with Jackson Hewitt and this year I opted for the Assisted Refund where my filing fees would be deducted from my refund instead of paying them upfront!!! I filed Jan. 25th and wanted to hurry up and get my taxes done so I could get my refund! Now Iam paying for it!!!

Re: Well, my ADR's are done!!!

Have you got your refund and you are just waiting on your rebate?
If you haven't received your refund I would call the IRS and ask about it, especially if you filed in January.

I did my taxes on April 14 with TurboTax with the paper check option and my DH's SS# ends in 99. I looked at the schedule. My rebate won't be here until late July. Oh well!

I did get my refund, however, in one week, paper check. I was shocked!
