I'm all for the 2nd list being accurate, but can anyone confirm from a definitive source?

Re: List of Disney Stores Closing:

My store is safe on both lists. I thought it probably would be though. It is in the ATL area and is a concept mall for a lot of things. For example, we have one of only 2 American Girl Boutique and Bistros in the country.

I am sorry if your store is on the list.

Re: List of Disney Stores Closing:

The one close to us is closing and everything must go. It makes me sad. I spoke to the cast member at the store, she said they don't have a definite date of closing but should stay open until the end of the month. She said they're closing 85 stores in the US and 2 in canada (if I'm not mistaken by the numbers) and 2,000 cast members will be out of a job.

Re: List of Disney Stores Closing:

Whew,.....mine is staying open!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah. I hope they change it back the way it was when Disney owned it because I am not happy with how it is now. It feels like a toy store and doesn't have the "Disney" feel it used to. Not only that, they barely have any household/adult items. I don't have kids so that's what I go in there for.

Danbury, CT used to be the closest Disney Store to me before the Middletown and Poughkeepsie malls opened. I have a feeling that the store in West Nyack, NY is safe as well.

I live in Sussex County, NJ and used to go to the Galleria all the time. I love the Disney store there. I'm so sorry your's is closing.

Re: List of Disney Stores Closing:

There are a few CT ones but the one we always go to at Westfarms is not on the list, so that is a relief, if those other ones are closing I will be sad bu ti will definetly going to scoop up some good deals, a little bittersweet.

This is exactly what I have been saying for years. They really messed it up when they stopped selling to adults. It was always busy in those days. Now, those of us without kids who have $ to spend have no reason to spend it there anymore. DW and I used to buy great merchandise there all the time when it was a "real' Disney store. Haven't spent much there in years. How's that for a wise business decision on their part? "Let's alienate all shoppers who don't have children 10 and under. We certainly don't want their money!" Can you imagine if they took this same attitude at the parks?

I'm hoping the Castleton store stays open and Disney learns from this mistake and puts it back the way it used to be. When it had the "feel" of being at Disney and there were some really cool things on the shelves. On the rare occasion when we would go in to a Disneystore, the CM's would tell us they hear the same thing from a lot of people.

Re: List of Disney Stores Closing:

I will try to get a list of the stores that are officially closing from one of my 5 managers at my Disney Store, luckly mine isnt closing - thankfully! We are getting so many cool new Disney stuff, new costumes, new name badges, new store remodel, Cast IDs -- which supposively will be like the Disney Theme Parks, Free entry to DLR and discounts on food, merchandise and the hotels...not sure if its true, but its what Ive heard. But Ill see what I can get.
