handmade autograph books

I made autograph books for my kids to use at Disney World, and someone requested that I post photos of the pages. This is actually one I made for my niece just last month. It's very similar to the four I made for my kids. I seem to have misplaced the photos of the princess pages, but I do have some of the "classic" character pages that I'll post.

I use Creative Memories 7 x 7 scrapbooks and make pages for each character we're planning on seeing, plus some pages at the back of the book for those characters we meet that we didn't expect to.

I'll look for some older photos of the princess pages from my girls' books.

Re: handmade autograph books

These are GREAT! Do you just slip the page out for the signature? I REALLY love this idea....so much more personal than the little books.

Re: handmade autograph books

Actually, the characters sign right on the page, and then at home I'll put the page protector on over top of the page.

Ahhhhh....I see. I am probably the only non-scrapbooker in the world...I need a bit of guidance on these things I am going to have to give it a go!

How absolutely cute. Like JustaT said, more personal than the small ones you purchase. Very well done.

Re: handmade autograph books

I have used the CM books as well, but I've taken a different approach. I take the whole book with no decorations into the parks. The first time we used them, I carried 3! I'm a bit of a scrapbook psycho, so I also carried the Round Tip Pens in a variety of colors. I just had to match the characters! I took photos of the children getting autographs and with the characters (of course!). I allowed characters to sign all pages, and encouraged them to share a page if they were going to be in the same photo. When I returned home and got my photos back, I inserted extra pages into the album between the autographed pages. That way I could put the character's photo on the page facing the autograph. I added some enhancements and a page protector and called it done!

BTW, CM is coming out with a completely new line of Disney stuff on June 1, and it's adorable!!!

LOVE your adorable pages!

Unfortunately, there's not much of a market for them, because of the cost. It's not cheap. I've watched different kinds of books come and go on ebay and I don't think I'd be able to sell these. Thanks for the compliments, though!

That is a cool way to do it! I do leave the opposite page for the picture of my child with the character; I really love looking at the girls' books from last year and how much they've changed!

I'll check into the new CM Disney stuff. I love CM!

They have to many different Disney papers and embellishments at the local scrapbook stores, it would be very easy to put them together. Unfortunately, the scrapbooks you find in the stores are different from the ones from Creative Memories. My opinion is that the CM books are easiest. Other books have the page protectors attached to the book, and you have to pull the page out of the sleeve to get the character to sign it. If you can only find that kind of book, I would suggest taking 4 x 6 colored paper to the parks and having the characters sign those; then you can put them in the book when you get home.

If you need help, just send me a PM; I'd be happy to get someone else into my favorite hobby!

The colored paper is a GREAT idea. I am SOOOOO going to do that next time. Now the problem is......WHEN IS MY NEXT TRIP.....sadly I believe it will be in 2009.

Thanks for the advice and I am going to take you up on that advice offer.
