Sorry this is not Disney related but thought I share this with you..

I will be going to Chincoteague Island in Virginia. Leaving on July 4th and staying there until Sunday, July 13th.. Can't wait!! Should be a lot of fun..

I was there 6 years ago for the first time and loved it.

This year my fiancee and I plan on taking a Pony Express Tour which is a Cruise. You get to see Wild Ponies, all different kinds of birds, dolphins and they also take you by the Assateague Light House in Virginia.

I would love to post a TR and share some pictures with you all when I get back.

My mom loves it there. She had some book about a pony from there when she was little. Her and my step-dad go every year. Can't wait to see some pictures, they always go in April and it is usually overcast! lol

I love it there.. This is my second time going and can't wait.

We go all the time- My best suggestion is to be very well covered with bug repellant- the Horses tend to bring lots of mosquitos and green heads with them and they are very heavy during the summer. It is a neat place and there is lots of wildlife to see. The beaches there are wonderfull and big waves. My dad lives about 45 min from there so we go every year.

That is awesome that your dad lives near by. Yup! Got the bug repellant ready.. LOL. I love the beach there.

I wish I'd have gone...I thought Chincot. was in MD? Y'know, living in MD my whole life and being so close to it, its really sad that I've never been. Hope ya have fun!

We love Chincoteague too ! We have been going for the past 5 years, always at the end of April. We always stay at the Refuge Inn, which has Chincoteague ponies right on the property. We always bring our bikes and explore Assateague Island. Next to Disney World, it's our favorite vacation spot because it's so peaceful and relaxing.
