Mine is kind of silly but meant so much because of the thought! My DH gave me a drain stopper for the sink that has enamel mickey ears in the middle. It thrilled me because he knows how much I enjoy cooking & cleaning. Yes, I said I enjoy cleaning! Now, every time I look in the sink I see my little mouse ears glistening back at me!
Now, your turn Matto, the curosity is killing me!

Mine was to my entire family when we went to stay at the AKL. I was the only one that knew we'd be staying in a Savanna view room.
They were all very happy and suprised :)

OK, OK.... Last summer when we were in WDW my DW went into the jewlers on Main St with my sister. They found this costume jewelry ring, white metal with fake diamonds and after every third faux diamond there was a MM head icon. Well to say that my DW loved this $20.00 ring is an understatement! WELL, sometimes late Sept or early October one of the faux diamonds fell out of the ring and my DW got all upset. SO upset that she called my sister and they talked about it and my sister ended up calling guest relations in WDW, got the number for the store and had two more sent up to my DW.

SO anyway I had an idea. My DW's engagement ring is a tiffiany setting with a Sapphire in the middle and two smaller diamonds on either size. She'd been dropping hints that for our 10th anniversary (Two years from now) she wanted an new wedding band with diamonds (I guess you would call it an anniversary band). So I started thinking about this ring that she bought at WDW that loved so much and I went to a friend of mine who is a jeweler. I took the ring to him on the sly ands asked if he could duplicate it but using platinum, real diamonds, sapphires to match her engagement ring along with the Mickey heads. Well let me tell you, the ring came out GOURGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave it to her on Christmas eve and as soon as she opened the box, I held my breath and her eyes started to well up! I gotta tell you there's nothing like picking a present, one that wasn't asked for, and hitting the nail right on the head! She loved it! The only problem is it's gonna be a long time before I can top that one!:) :)

Okay...to some people this may not be silly... Hubby and I honeymooned at WDW 13 years ago this month. Last year, we took the fam for our anniversary. Hubby brought me a Mickey & Minnie bride & groom porcelain figurine. She has a net veil on. I appreciate the thought, but its a little cheesy for my taste. I don't collect figurines or anything like that so apologize to all of you who may have one at home. I mean, where am I supposed to display it? I would have rather had something like a charm bracelet or a necklace or I don't know... He thinks I love that thing. I love that he thought of me to try and I will cherish that, but I could do without the figurine. ;)

Sometimes it ain't easy buying a gift for someone you love. You think you know a person or their likes but you can strike out more often then most care to admit.

Remember DisneyAnne it's the thought that counts :)
That being said, I would feel the same way you do, as I am not a porcelain figurine type person, maybe you can save it for your little girl :)

I bought DH a Pirates of the Caribbean watch last year for his birthday .. its one of his favorite rides and the watch came with a figurine of the pirate and the pig .. its limited edition. but I think the gift he loves the most is his share of Disney Stock.

That's why I never let on that he strikes out, matto. I'd rather be less than excited about a gift than to hurt his feelings. He was really proud of that thing and it is sitting on my dresser in my room. Sounds like you, on the other hand, never strike out. What a story! Very thoughtful...

I have this!!! I also don't collect figurines, however, my parents bought it for me just before I got married 10 years ago. I guess I need to look for it, I can't remember the last time I saw it. Hmmm, where could it be???

OH no I've struck more then my fair share of times! But it's those magical moments that you know you got just the right thing that make up for all those misses!:)
