Disneyland transportation question...

Okay, I know this is in the wrong place, but the Disneyland forums don't get enough love and are often overlooked...

Does anyone know if the Hilton Anaheim provides transportation to DL parks, or if the Disney busses service that hotel...? It's a hop skip and jump from the parks...five minute drive, but a 30 minute walk. The less my mom is on her feet, the better.

The hotel website doesn't seem to have an answer, and I fear we'll have to walk, or call a cab.

The mods are free to move this, but I need answers so we can start planning. I'll be there in a week, aaagggggh.

It's not the most consistant transportation system.

I've stayed at the Hilton three times now, the last this past Christmas. The Hilton itself doesn't provide a bus. However, the Anaheim Trolley goes by "supposedly" every half hour.. There's a machine where you can buy three day passes which are cheaper than one way fares..

But, they don't always run on schedule. And, to make it confusing, sometimes the trolley bypasses the Hilton and goes across the street to the Marriott.

It's cheap, but semi-convenient. There are times I wish I had a rental car when I was there, 'cause at times the incovenience is truly inconvenient.

The walk isn't that bad, really. And there are cabs sitting in line, so you wouldn't have to wait if you did.

Hope this answers most of your questions.

Re: Disneyland transportation question...

Aww. Yes, I suppose it does answer my questions, even if it wasn't the answer I was looking for. Sad day about not-free transportation. but on the flip side...the tickets will be free for my seasonal status. Gotta give somewhere, eh? =/ We'll just have to figure out the car sithc with dad, then... Shame.

Re: Disneyland transportation question...

I would definately call the hotel direct and ask them specific questions about their transportation options. I have never stayed there but it never hurts to get updated information direct from the horse's mouth.

Sorry, maybed I should have answered more completely.

The trolley is definately cheaper than a cab or rental car. It all depends on what it is you want and what you can afford.

As a season passholder, I have the benefit of free parking at Disneyland.

BUT I end up paying $10.00 a night parking.

If you have to pay for parking at Disneyland, that's another $11.00 or so a day.

In the end, for three people using a car between hotel and park, the numbers break down as follows:

$21.00 divided by 3 = $7.00 per person.
All day Trolley pass is around $3.00 I think per person.
Three day Trolley passes is $2.00 per person.

The Trolleys do run every half hour, just not on a tight schedule. It's more the driver taking the unexpected lunch break instead of driving you to the hotel..

Yeah, I think we can live with that kind of spontaneity. I mean, I rarely expect busses ON THE DOT anymore, since experiencing the busses here at SCAD As long as we're not waiting at a stop for more than an hour, I think we'll manage.

Pops told me us it was a ten minute walk from the hotel to the park buuuut I dunno if I trust him haha. Still don't think we'll chance it with my moms footsies...

Thanks again for the help! We can definitely afford 2 bucks a person.

I will also try calling the hotel, Wish, and see what they have to say, just in case!

It's more like a healthy 30 minute walk from the front desk to the front gate..

Voldemort and I walked from Napa Rose to the Hilton. Trust me. It wasn't 10 minutes..

Yeah, no. We'll take the trolley in the name of my plantar fascitis. We'll get enough healthy walking done in DL itself. DAD can walk. He's the 61 year old jock wanna-be, jogging like 5 miles every day. With the way he carries on about missing a morning run (with a legit illness for a reason) you'd think he'd have to go to CONFESSION to clear his conscience. He sickens me.

Um, well, after a brief chat with Voldemort, she seems to think that we took a leisurely 15 minute walk from the front gate at Disneyland.

My memory might be a bit off..

Re: Disneyland transportation question...

We're taking the trolley anyway! No more mind-changing.

If it was just me going, I'd walk it in the morning to see how far, then take the trolley if I deemed it too long. We shall see, shall we?
