WDW recipes

I just noticed that the back of my Birmbaums WDW restaurant guide has some WDW recipes...anyone ever try these or have one that comes close to the real thing that they'd like to share?

Re: WDW recipes

I once found a recipe online for Brown Derby's Grapefruit Cake. It was good. The recipe was fairly easy to follow and everyone enjoyed the cake.

I think allears has a link of recipes. Thanks for reminding me about this because there have been some very tasty dishes that I have wanted to try at home.

Re: WDW recipes

We tried the Grapefruit Cake, but it didn't turn out very well. I'll have to give it another go some day.

Re: WDW recipes

the Birmbaums book had Tonga toast that everyone's been raving about. I had thought it was like french toast and I wouldn't be able to have it (allergic to eggs), but it doesn't call for eggs!

Re: WDW recipes

You can ask for the recipes while at the Disney Restaurants. Many of them are already pre-printed for guest use.

I get most of my recipes from allears. I love to make the ancho chili salmon from the Crystal Palace.

Re: WDW recipes

I've mad e a few WDW recipes: the Buttermilk fried chicken was excellent. The Tonga Toast was too, but they were both a little on the messy side.

I don't know.... I consider myself a pretty good baker and I followed the directions, but the cake came out flat and dense. And the icing wasn't as "grapefruity" as the Brown Derby's.
