I got sucked into watching various wedding proposals in Disney parks, and boy oh boy, am I hooked.

My boyfriend better propose to me at WDW/DL if he knows whats good for him!

...first, I gotta find the silly boy who doesn't exist yet.

hehe, don't rush things, you are young. Watch the videos for now! I wanna watch these too. My proposal happened on Christmas eve in '01 at a quiet little restaurant, Daniel had the chef bring out a Christmas Cake that said "Will You Marry Me?" on it. Not Disney, but it was super sweet.

Dude, I always bring up eloping with my parents, to test the waters and see what they thought. It's...lukewarm so far.

What do your parents have to do with it? Are you taking them with you?



Really I know people that spend thousands on their weddings and most of the time they are still paying it off when they are sitting across the table with lawyers.

If you are serious about getting married my suggestion is spend money on a good marriage consoler. A good consoler will help you discover all the hidden stuff that will come out once those shiny wedding bands are firmly on your ring fingers. Fancy expensive weddings just makes those issues come out sooner..sadly I have seen this a number of time.

I wish I could make this happen...but my dad insists on spoiling me in his own not so subtle ways. The day I get proposed to, I fear either : the shovel/shotgun story, or a wedding bill to be insaaaane.

At one point, my now father-in-law offerred me a ladder. The problem was that my then-fiance, now-wife's room was in the basement. I would have had to spend three days digging a hole for the ladder!

My wife and I had already decided to marry after living together for several years. She already had a ring, but I had never officially proposed. We were down at Disneyland and she bought a pin with Mickey proposing to Minnie. She handed me the pin and said "srprise me". WE were in the process of having our picture taken with Mickey at his house in Toon Town whne I dropped down on one knee and agve her the pin.

She was surprised.

Sam Eagle is that you? I haven't seen this side of you in awhile Tigger. She's just watchin' videos big guy let's not go scaring her with lawyers, counselors, and fictional wedding bills yet. Mercy me.

(the girl in the office next to me just dropped close to 100k on a wedding...this doesn't include the 2 week honeymoon...her and the groom are now separated. They got married in May! I don't know what is worse that they are now separated after all the planning and expense or that I spent 8 months having to listen to every detail of the wedding...right down to what people where going to do what spa and meal for the week before. It is great to have a dreams and fantasy but better be serious about the outcome of the commitment or else it might just become a nightmare. Sorry if I'm a cold wet towel...just kind of top of mind. I have to say that if my daughter was getting married I would go all out cuz that is the way I am.)

Awe I loved my Disney proposal. It was perfect, he couldn't have done any better.
If he loves you and he's the right guy he'll do it right no matter where it takes place.

No, I agree. The "after" is WAY more important than the moment, this is very true. I went to college with a girl who I became close to b/c we got engaged at the same time & we we're getting married 2 months apart. I always told Daniel something just didn't feel right about them. They went and bought this huge gorgeous house, had to have matching Lexus cars for show, their wedding HAD to be the best of the best, and guess what..... they're now divorced. She's living in a one-bedroom apartment and he's still living grand somewhere b/c he 'screwed' her out of everything somehow.

Back then I always kind felt like she pitied me secretly b/c I didn't have all the big nice things like her. WELL, now she just wishes she had the relationship like I do cause the stuff meant NOTHING

ANYWAY, as long as the relationship is solid like Sam Eagle reminded us is important it's ok for a Dad to spoil a daughter on her wedding. I still had an amazingly elaborate wedding & we have a solid relationship. It doesn't have to be one or the other. You just have to make sure it's really solid before hand.
