I read somewhere that the College cheerleading and Dance team National Championships are Jan. 16 - 18th at WDW. How will this effect the parks and resorts? We are heading down for our first trip to Disney and I'm wondering what to expect. Any insight would be great! Thanks.

Last year I went to DHS on the Saturday before MLK, and dance teams were all over the place. I'm thinkin it helps crowd congestion a little, especially since the teams were performing at DHS as well as ridin around...

We were there in February and there were a lot of Cheerleaders there. But even though the parks seemed really packed. The wait times on the rides weren't bad at all. It was really surprising.

I dont think you need to worry about this one. The college aged competitions dont cause nearly as much of an uproar as the ones for young children. Last year thier competitions were held at the Milkhouse at WWOS. Ususally, since the trips are being paid for by the college, the girls have pretty strict rules and curfews. Also, alot of the parents and families dont make the trip.

I would expect that the holiday weekend will be an bigger impact than the cheerleading competition. Hopefully, everyone will have cleared out before I arrive on the 20th. Then, I hope to be out before the crowds start building for the Super Bowl weekend in Tampa. We actually timed our trip out to fall between these two potential tie-ups.
