Refillable Mugs

I know we've mentioned the refillable resort mugs a few times before in a variety of threads, but I didn't find any thread specifically related to them and I think it may be helpful for folks if we have one. Ta-dah! Here it is.

While reading MichaelDarling's informative response in the recent 'Mara at AKL' thread:
Quote:
I love the refillable mugs. That $9.00 goes a long way, especially if you ever stay at that resort again! They make great souvineers too.
, I remembered that I had been meaning to ask if anyone knows specifically what types of refills are allowed? For instance, I was told by another resort guest that any of the self-service beverages can be had with your mug. Others have indicated that only soda and/or coffee are included in the offer. (Actually, that seems a little silly to me.) Are the beverage types allowed limited or not?

At the Grand Californian, we bought our souvenir mugs and helped ourselves to coffee, tea, soda, Cappucino, tea, milk and hot chocolate during our stay.

BTW, this has nothing to do with the mugs, but I just remembered this incident and I wanted to mention it: While we were getting a drink at the self-service restaurant, we saw a woman help herself to a scone from the bakery case and get into the cashier's line. While waiting, she took a bite of her scone, got out of the line, walked around the dining area, and returned the scone to the case!!! She looked right at me as she did this and then just walked out. I was dumbstruck. I didn't know if I should report it to someone (I didn't see any CMs) and I was concerned about embarassing another guest . . . I met my pal in the lobby and told her about it. She told me to go back and let someone know so that the scone could be removed. I did go right back (about three minutes had passed), and as I walked by the bakery case on my way to the cashier (since he had been the only worker I'd seen earlier), I noticed that the scone was gone and I saw a worker rearranging the case. I don't know if one of the workers had noticed what had happened or if somebody else notified a worker or ?, but I was pleased that the distasteful incident was remedied promptly. I still can't believe that a grown-up would do something like that. Gross!

That is not the way for anyone to behave, adult or child. I would have said something directly to the person, and loudly. At the very least, she would have been utterly embarrassed! But to answer your question, when we stayed at ASMo in '98, we got the mugs, and were told we could fill them with anything that came out of a tap-coffee, hot chocolate, soda, milk, whatever. I don't know if that's official policy or not, but we never had a problem while we were there. Hope this helps.:) :) :D :D

Well after the changed to the CBR they told us that the mugs could be refilled by any of the self-serve drinks......the mugs were 9.99 there and we drank enough to more then make the price back... :)

We bought mugs at CBR in 2000 and used them over, and over. Worth the money. Now that we are going back in 7 days, should we take our mugs with us? We are staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins this visit. :)

Technically, the program is designed so that you purchase a new mug each time you come. You aren't supposed to bring mugs back to be used again. You may be able to use them again, but that is up to you. Like you said, you got your money's worth last time you purchased them, you will get your money's worth this time around as well.

The mugs are only good at the resort pictured on them. So, if you take the mugs with you, you won't be able to use them at FW.

Although, I had a Port Orleans (the original POL!) mug that I took with me to Port Orleans Riverside last June and used. Nobody said a thing. Probably because Port Orleans is the name of the resort, or nobody noticed...
