Agreed! Baloo and I have been having chats on this whole engagement subject (!!) and I've been making it very clear that I would prefer a simple, small ring/stone... besides the fact that I just prefer understated things, it leaves us with more money for the wedding, the honeymoon, a house, life, whatever!

Me too! That's my fav! Just showed it to the hubby, we'll be married 19 years in April. I can't really justify spending that on a ring since I have one, too, but if he thinks it's ok, them I'm good with it, lol!!

The rings are so pretty.I wouldn't want to upgrade though. Mark put alot of time and effort in picking out a ring for me (he stressed so much) and if I were to want to replace it, I know it would hurt him and I would never do that to him.

I'm NOT saying a guy who spends 4K on a ring for his bride isn't special and isn't worth something. I AM saying that I personally value a fella that won't spend a fortune on me, because I prefer simpler things. (I admit that I speak from a slight bias; growing up with a dad who spends money on you just to say HOW much he spent on you is actually really...I don't know, I just never liked it. Never liked being spoiled.)

I'm not attacking anyone's husband or fiance for buying whatever rings they like. I'm not judging anyone here. I only shared my own personal opinion, and my opinion is certainly not law.

OK, it just sounded like a different statement when you said "I wouldn't marry someone who would spend 4k on a ring. Sorry." To me that insinuated something else, like there's something wrong with a guy who would.

I think I would have interpreted it differently with a response like PrincessJill's saying something like, "I prefer simpler things." That I understand.

I am not really a diamond girl, the boy has already been told if he does ever get around to proposing that if he buys diamond that the answer would be NO. I like aquamarines which just so happen to be his birthstone. However, that Ariel ring is absoulutely gorgous. I could change my mond for that, lol
