What Room what Annimated Feature?

lots of us have a houses that are full of Disney... but I was thinking after seeing Finding Nemo, how great it would be to turn my bathroom in to a complete Nemo themed bathroom .. DH isnt real impressed even though he loved the movie too he likes our bathroom the way it is. Of course he didnt like my idea of painting our bedroom walls with scenes from Peter Pan either .. lol well my oldest Granddaughter was standing over my shoulder reading this and she said she didnt think she would like having Dory and Marlin looking on when she was using the bathroom.
Ok on to my question .. if you could do a any room in an disney annimated feature theme .. which room and which annimated feature?

I love it, DH isnt too thrilled with it but like I keep telling him at least you wont forget what to do when you go in the there. :D :laugh
Kitchen is all done in Mickey Mouse, our master bedroom is done in the 100 hundred acre woods theme and our spare room is everything else let from my disney collection.

I think Im running out of room.....Hummmm I guess I need a BIGGER house.

We've got one bathroom in Aloha Mickey stuff, DH's bathroom in Classic Mickey stuff. Our family room is Disney Golf in shades of green, terra cotta, and oak. (although I worked my heart out on this room and during the winter the roof burst open and everything has to be redone! Wah)

My kitchen has assorted Mickey appliances in it (and my fave - Mickey Waffle Iron), Mickey silverware, etc. My living room is done with Disneyana collectibles, but outside of the large, graphical Mickey poster, you can't tell where most of the artwork is from. That's the room that needs repainting and new furniture that I keep adding animal print stuff to, a la Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think I'm going to be in trouble in that room.

What I am *dying* to do, but need to get rid of a ton of toys before I can do it, is to turn the basement into a theatre. Red paisley carpet, red velvet seating, lush curtains on the wall where a big screen TV would go, popcorn maker, etc. I'd make it look like the old fashioned movie theatres, and fill it with Disney nostalgia. Stock it full of DVDs and snacks, and we're good to go!

MickeyMac that theatre sounds like a wonderful idea!!!
my other room decor idea was to paint the room with that magnetic paint and print out tons of different disney charactors to change it up all the time .. again ..DH wasnt impressed "I like this wallpaper and the way it looks right now" Maybe I should start with a closest .. surely he wouldnt mind an annimation theme in one of them *sigh*

We did my son's room in Mickey. It is painted red on the bottom, yellow on top with movie film Mickey in between. The walls have special edition posters and pins that he has collected over the last few years. He has a case full of Disney beanies and porcelain collectibles. His bathroom was redone last year and we tiled the walls with mickey tiles. We used shadow boxes with special buttons and pins from the parks and from Walt's 100th birthday party in Marceline, MO. We are going to have to move out into the hallway next because we've run out of room for the newest posters and art he just bought. BTW, DS is 16! and loves his room.

I too have a Mickey themed bathroom. It is actually a laundry room/bathroom combo.

I painted the walls red (4 coats to cover since the paint store added something to the paint so the walls wouldn't mildew) and we have black/white checkerboard vinyl floor in there. I put up the Mickey filmstrip border around the top and have a shelf with picture frames from our WDW trips with our pictures of us with Mickey in each of them.

Also have the Mickey shoes rug and the black Mickey head rug on the floor.

Gee, after reading some of the other posts to this thread, my room pales in comparison! LOL!!:D

We have a Pooh Room

Before anybody gets too silly - no it is not the bathroom! :p

My son's room has the Pooh characters on all the walls. He also has Pooh blankets and special needlepointed pillow on his chair.

I made him a lamp for his room that has guess who on it? Nope, not Pooh - it's Dumbo with a bunch of balloons and it sits on his changing table. He loves to pat Dumbo on the head after he is all changed and clean.

Guess I should mention that my son is 2!

One other thing: He is currently OBSESSED with Mickey!!! We got him his first Mickey when we were at Disney back in January and he sleeps with him every night.

barbie our youngest granddaughter (now 11) has been obsessed with mickey almost since birth.. the only way she would go to sleep from 2 months till 1 year unless her mickey was in the crib with her. at 2 years if you asked her what her name was she would say barbara belong to Mickey and Minnie :)
so I understand an obessed with Mickey 2 year old :)

Our house is no where near as "disney-fide" as I would like it to be, but I'm working on it.

If I could do any room, any way I want, I would choose our bedroom. I would paint the walls a dark periwinkle and then I would hire a sketch artist to draw the skyline of London all the way around the lower half of the room. Stars and pixie dust around the top half, and Captain Hooks Golden Ship Floating in the scene somewhere....Someday....Someday.......

In our hall bath, I made it a Wilderness Lodge theme. I have painted it in dark hunter green, and have bought many woodsy accessories such as a bear soap dispenser, a log cabin night light, a shower curtain that has bear and moose on it, and I've decorated it with baskets of pine cones and a beautiful miniture log cabin. I have framed pictures of the "real" Wilderness Lodge for the walls. I just love how it turned out!! I need to put a hidden Mickey in there somewhere!!

Our sons room is all "mighty ducks" themed. Painted dark turquoise with official pennates and flags, and hockey pictures all around. This all started with his favorite TV Show on Toon Disney, "The mighty ducks". This show started his love of hockey, and he wants to grow up a be a professional hockey player!!

Our daughters room is painted in "wendy darling" disney paint and decorated with her cross-stiched "Pooh" baby announcement and her posters of all the Disney Insider magazines that I have saved over the years. We also have framed a beautiful poster that we got "free" at the 25 year celebration that is a picture of a child walking at dusk to the castle with Mickey Mouse. Tinkerbell is flying over the castle. I love this picture. We have it in our room and our sons room, too.

In our room, we have a collection of "sketches" framed in black matte frames with mickey head cut outs in all four corners of the frame. We have them decorated all over our room, and we get new ones on each trip. We also have my hubbys "prized" scrooge clock and limited edition framed "cell" .

In our hall, we have "collages" of our trips to WDW over the years.

I'm adding to it all the time, because I love to embrace the magic every day!!

Personally, I think that a Finding Nemo bathroom is a fantastic idea! :D I am planning the decor for my apartment when I move out, and had originally been planning to do the same thing with my bathroom. Then my second choice went on clearance, so now my bathroom is going to be Marie from the Aristocats. I'm having second thoughts about that, though, because the Nemo stuff is just too adorable!!
These are the items I am planning & purchasing right now. Tell me what you think:

Bedroom--classic Mickey, which will also house my entire Mickey collection.
Bathroom--Marie from the Aristocats, all done in a soft pink (good thing I'll be living on my own...)
Kitchen--red, white & blue accented with Sorcerer's Apprentice stuff
Living Room--the least Disney-fied room, with sand & brown furniture to give it a very Polynesian feel, plus subtle Disney art sketches framed on the walls.

That is going to be a pretty...er, diverse apartment, eh? Like I said: good thing I'll be living on my own! I like it kind of busy, though.
