Disney Themed Birthdays

This coming weekend we are having our twins 5th birthday parties. First let me tell you that they are boy-girl twins so we usually have different themes. Last year we had both parties a the same time. The girls in the Dining room with a " Minnie Ballerina" theme and the boys in the kitchen with a "Thomas the Tank Engine" theme.
This year we are splitting the parties into two times and both children want a Disney Themed birthday. The girls in the morning are having a "Little Mermaid" theme and the boys in the afternoon are having a "Davey Crockett" theme.
I imagine with all of the love for Disney shown throughout this website there has to be allot of Disney themed parties. What are some of your ideas?

Some of our other Disney themes have been:

Disney Babies (Baby Mickey & Minnie)
Belle
Sleeping Beauty
Toy Story

My DD has already informed me that she wants a Princess theme birthday party in October for her 3rd birthday. The party will definetly be Disney but with her the theme is subject to change. I have feeling that when we go to the Party City store for invitations she may just change her mind to Nemo when she sees the Nemo decorations!

My DD will be 3 on August 1st, and we are also having a Little Mermaid party!
The kids change their obsessions fairly often, but right now, ARIEL IS IT!
I got her an Ariel costume to wear, we'll be playing the soundtrack, swimming in the pool, and she and her little friends will play "under the sea" themed games and then watch the movie!
I can't wait this is the first birthday that she'll be really into!:)

gcbdad, were you able to get the Davy Crockett stuff from WDW?
I have 2 Davy Crocket hats, if you didn't get one, I would be happy to mail one to you. The Davy Crockett kick has died down around here, lol.

ajbdk5, sounds like you have a great line-up for b-day number 3. My wife has a list of Ariel items for the party but it will not include swimming. We seam to be the only people in Florida without a pool. Yeah it is amazing how many times the kids change favorites.
As for the Davey Crockett items, my wife found the items she wanted on the web somewhere. I am not sure what site though. I appreciate all of the help I received from everyone on this issue.

We had a Mickey party for my son's 2nd birthday this year.

We had Mickey balloons, Mickey treats (like cookies and fruit snacks), outfits with Mickey on them, Mickey decorations, and of course a Mommy-made Mickey cake.

I am trying to post a picture of it on here for you. Hopefully it will work. Bear with me if it doesn't appear - I am still new here. :)

I like some of your other ideas for parties too. Never thought about Davey Crockett, but sounds like alot of fun!

That cake is AWESOME! You have quite a talent there. Have you got any pix of the rest of the party? I would love to see the Mickey outfits....

This past weekend we had a Princess themed party for DD's 3rd bday. We were just at WDW 2 weeks ago, so she had met most of the princesses there and was so excited for her princess party. Since Cinderella was her favorite at WDW, I hired "Cinderella" (a clown who also has a Cinderella costume) who came for 1 hour and read stories, balloon characters and face painting. I also purchased different princess tiaras at the Disney Store (50% off!) for the little princess guests as party favors. I also purchased the cake at Costco for 14.99 - they had a really cute Princess cake (not Disney, but still very cute).

I have to say that Coscto cakes are VERY delicious!!!!! And so much cheaper than your local bakery or ice cream store! And they do such a great job decorating them! ;)

I was just looking back on my son's baby pictures (time to scrapbook them finally) and I just rememberd that his room was done up in the disney babies!! Also, my baby shower was all disney baby themed too! (Only my cake was a baby bear...really cute). I still have the disney baby balloons and the ribbon they used!! I love it!

His 4th bday we also did the Disney/Mickey theme and ordered a cake from Publix (the best place around here to make cakes) and did the Disney Movie time also!

Disney Birthdays are so fun!!!!

Whatever theme you pick, (princess theme/little mermaid/cinderella) if you have boys at the pary too...make sure they are the "prince";) give them some things that a prince would have, swords, shields and stuff.

princess/prince party

My 4 year old son attendend a prince/princess party earlier this year. Every kid and parent got a nametag with 'Sir John' or "Lady Emily" on it. The grandmother in attendance was the "Queen Mother" etc. She had a graphics program for her computer and she just printed them all up using the clip art on the disk. Each child made a crown or princess hat using veiling, jewels glitter etc. Each boy also decorated a cardboard shield. There was a treasure hunt with easy to read maps and the kids found little wooden treasure chests at the end. The chests had gold goblets or glass slippers in them (party store, dollar store stuff), queen and king jewel rings, glitter confetti and chocolate coins for treasure. Each girls got a wand and each boy got a bubble sword (all from the dollar store). The kids took turns slaying the dragon (a stack of large empty cardboard boxes) with the swords. The cake looked like a castle - the towers were frosted sugar cones (the pointy ice cream cones). Even though my son said the party was for girls he still had a good time!

I actually had a problem with how to make the little boys not feel like they were at a girly party. As I mentioned previously I had purchased the princess tiaras as party favors for the little girls. I had no idea what to do for the boys. I envisioned "prince" crowns for them. Unfortuanately there were no prince crowns at the Disney store or in Disneyworld. I finally decided on Peter Pan hats for the littler boys and Capt Hook hats for the 5 yr old boys (I purchased them at the MK). While they weren't "princes" all the boys loved their hats and felt more included at a little girl's party. Also on the invitation this is how I worded it to include the boys:
Calling all princesses and princes too...
nothing short of a Royal Celebration will do!
It's Princess Jillian's
3rd Birthday
and you're invited to have fun and play!
date
time
(your last name) Castle
address
please r.s.v.p. to
her Queen Mom

and then when I addressed the envelopes - I called all the kids Princess or Prince before their names.
