First DC Meet & Greet Scheduled
Okay everyone! The First DC Meet & Greet has been scheduled. It will be February 13th -16th at Caribbean Beach Resort. The rates are $98/night + 11 1/2% tax which comes to about $327.81. PLUS $10 fee to Mickey for his expenses. :)
What I need to know now, is who will be there. This still doesn't commit you, but we need to know how many rooms to put under the group contract. You can post here or PM me with any questions. Mickey is working on getting details such as cancellation policy, deadlines, and what-nots. This is very exciting! Depending on the success of this one, we will schedule others. Thanks to everyone for your input. ![]() |

I am going to come to the meet and greet, but I cannot justify the 98 dollars a night price tag for a room only. If I cannot share with someone to defray expenses I will go to the motel that I use outside of Disney where I can get a room for 18 dollars a night and just come to all the events scheduled.

One other thing-I don't want Mickey to think that I don't want to pay him the 10 dollars;that,to me,is entirely justified, but I am on the very TIGHTEST budget you can imagine,so unless something comes up at the last minute,I'll have to stay off-site at the place I mentioned in my last post. When will be the last day to sign up?

Doesn't Mickey get the booking commission from Disney as the travel agent?
I'm somewhat like mickaholic, I can't justify spending that kind of money for a hotel room for one person. And I don't bring my family to Internet Meets unless they are actively involved in the board. Has anything been decided on the activities? Will there be scheduled get-togethers or the entire weekend will be together? Last edited by jmouse; 07-22-2003 at 09:28 PM. |

I want to come!!! Hmm....might be a good idea for me, too, since I'll be moving shortly after February and WDW will not exactly be in the budget for a long time! I'll see if my best bud can come on those dates, and if not...well, I'll come by myself! Seriously!

She is very aware that some DCers will be coming alone, some with kids, and some without and will plan this meet and greet accordingly. I can't wait to see what she comes up with, she's very creative, and I know she'll make it flexible and FUN!:) ![]()

Thanks for your vote of confidence Amy! Wow...you know how to make a chick feel good...:D
Let me see what I can answer here... mickaholic~ Hopefully something will come around for you, but if not, I completely understand you staying where you need to. Good grief...you are talking to the queen of off-site... I may even add that to my sig file...LOL! I (like everyone else) will just be thrilled to meet you and spend some time with you. I seriously doubt Mickey has any problem with anyone staying anywhere they want to. He is a wonderful person and actually not charging the typical 10% he would to handle the whole thing. We just need a ballpark figure to give the people at CBR. He is looking into the absolute last possible date that we could add to a reservation. We'll let you know.... jmouse~ Sounds like you may be the answer to Mickaholic's problem. Maybe you two should take an opportunity to get to know each other before you decide. Being a travel agent, you may even be able to work something out that would be comfortable for both of you. I am sure Mickaholic would consider any suggestions you may have. :D As for the itinerary, I haven't planned it yet... My plan is to come up with several meals and meeting places for each day. That way, if everyone wants to meet and hang out for a whole day, they certainly can...or if someone wants to do their thing and meet up for a meal, they will know where to go. In fact, I think I have you to thank for that suggestion! ;) dznygrl~ Maybe you are the answer to Mickaholic and jmouse's dilemma. If you come alone, you may want to share a room with one of these DCers. Whatever it takes to get everyone there! :) Guys, I have lots of ideas in my head, but just like the forum, I will need some help pulling a couple of them off. Everyone has been so helpful with this event and I hope the offers will continue. So cheers! Here's to DC M&G at CBR in WDW!

This sounds like a ton o' fun. I wish we could make it!! I will enjoy reading the reports and seeing the pictures.
BTW....a grand total of $109.27 per night at CBR doesn't sound bad to me. Isn't the full price around $140 per night? Well anyway....I hope you have a big crowd and have a lot of fun.:) |
